Moon Mining. Is it worth it?

From what I'm reading, a lot of the lower end moon minerals aren't worth mining (or at least your POS better be doing other things as well). I'm trying to work out if this is still true, but I'm not entirely sure how much m3/units of minerals I get per hour from a moon harvester. If someone could let me know, is it m3 or units of minerals, that would help greatly. Also, are low ends enough to pay for fuel costs on a small tower?

Thanks in advance.

100 units per hour.
Next time, use the "show info" on a moon harvester, silly kid !
And no, the low ends will not pay the fuel for a small POS.

Moon mining low ends is more of a supplementary thing. IE, you are running reactions, you actually need some of those low ends, and it's a reaction tower. Throw on 1-3 harvesters, depending on how many low ends, that you can use, are on the moon, and silos, though you'll have to potentially gimp that reaction tower a touch to do so. Otherwise, you might mine them on a lab pos. But yea, I don't think even a triple resource low end moon would cover the fuel costs.

It doesn't. If you are careful, you can cover about 1/2-2/3 of your fuel bill making the low end stuff.

Whatever you do, don't do it. Moon mining and reaction farms are beyond boring. You will want to scratch out your eyes. But if you are dead set, then don't bother having any moon harvesters. You'll actually make more ISK off most moons by using that CPU/PG for reactors and just doing simple or complex reactions. But be warned, reaction farms cost a lot of capital and are a real pain to maintain (damn you CCP, why can't silos hold more than 2 days worth of fullerides!!).

Just don't! Any moon that makes enough isk to be worth the time and effort is already taken. If you happen to get one, be ready to loose it.

I did it once just to say I did it. I even shot probes at all the moons of several systems to find a good location. That's several days of my life I will never get back.

There are quite a few moons available in 0.3 systems & lowers (read npc null). Yes you can turn a profit as well.
The issue though, is time vs reward. Its a real pain to setup a pos & keep it running. After a while it just becomes so bloody tedious fueling & hauling the moon goo back & forth between market hub.

I have to agree , if there worth mining, get ready to loose them. My corp has 12 posses, mostly cobalt, a few platinum and they get reinforced every other day.

Im lucky i have some back up to defend them.
