Greeting from Bat Country.

After conducting an investigation we have found several issues which I will now point out.


Here is the hulk gank in question.

As we can see the hulk pilot Ryan heathan has fitted two t2 MLU, three t2 modualted strip miners, a t2 rock scanner and used two cargo rigs. To protect his ship he had a single adaptive invuln feild 1 and a flight of t2 hobs in the drone bay. So basically untanked and very profitable to kill.

This case of piracy was entirely avoidable if Ryan heathan had fitted a tank to his ship. He is the one to blame for this.

Ganking isn't against the rules and it isn't "abusing the system". What is an abuse of the system is people like you making petitions over nothing. People lose ships. My fleet lost 3 today. Get over it.

High security, not safe or perfect security. Even then, Concord only punishes. It's down to the player base to administer justice.

If someone is -5 and below, you have options given to you by CCP. It's the consequences of being -5 and below and you should take advantage of them.

Exactly, man. -5 people can be attacked anywhere. If you don't like it either kill them or watch local so you see them before they get you. CCP has given multiple tools to deal with the situation. They're not your mommy and they shouldn't be handling this for you.

Nope, that's business as usual, and a combination of the following:

  • Mining without a permit, it costs 10 million per character per annum, the New Order has agents waiting to talk to you 23.5/7.
  • Economic warfare, you think the gankers work alone? There's an industrial backbone supporting them, and they're making isk out of other peoples explosions, especially those of their competition. If they're smart they're supplying both sides of the equation.
  • Fitting an inadequate tank, a DCII on an otherwise unfitted Orca would more than double the EHP, 80% of which would have been structure, then the pilot compounded the problem by nerfing the EHP even more with cargo expanders.

Corporations in Eve act like corporations in real life would, if murder was legal. They're already immoral, if they could force their products/requirements upon others at gunpoint or start a war to drum up business, and get away with it they would. Business in Eve is warfare and war is good for business, it drives the entire economy.

    OP... seriously, why is your friend still using a Hulk to mine with? Use a Mackinaw! A lot more tank, harder to gank, much bigger ore hold, and the yield difference between the Mackinaw and Hulk these days isn't really worth getting a Hulk with the advantages you get from the Mackinaw. Hell, even a cheap ass Retriever is more advantageous than a Hulk.
