So I'm sitting in Metropolis looking at the skillbook market and damn if everything that isn't science related has jumped in price 11%. Things that used to be 900,000 just 2 weeks ago are 999,999. These are NPC sale too, not the player ones. This is ALL skillbooks, not the limited supply ones like Cynosural Field Generation and Multitasking. What gives? I know damned well what the prices SHOULD be because I use a reference database of them. I've tracked these prices literally for years. Did someone at CCP just decide the NPC prices were too normalized and install a Wall Street style bot to set them? Or is this an unannounced nerf? I checked in Verge Vendor before posting to make sur eit wasn't a Metropolis hate thing and the numbers are the same.

Maybe it is to do with ISK sinks- ref: last CSM minutes?

They'd spring this type of a change upon you without any announcement for very obvious reasons :)

Any colour you like.

NO.

The last patch CCP reset all the NPC prices to MEDIAN or BASEPRICE. After some time they will settle back to their Baseprice (-) Minus 10%

Not just books either, BPO's the lot.

tl:dr Suck it up, they will drop back eventually.

Apparently the price for blueprints and skillbooks no longer drops below the baseprice:

Interesting ill have a look later thanks!

(means my bpos are worth more muuuahahahaha)

E: I looked, he doesn't imply they will not go below the base price. only a varience, which could mean "between stations" ?

Ferox BPO base price is 540, jita is at 539.2 right now

About BPOs- a Drake BPO a few years ago used to be around 300m (or just over) - and is now over 500m (in Lonetrek)- so things have changed...

Any colour you like.

All you have to do is check the graph, compare it to the price it is now.
Remember ALL NPC orders are set to "364 xx xx xxs" , they are easy to spot in the market. (Im sure you knew all that sam <3 but some readers may not)

The biggest gain (Actually changed not swung back up 11%) was in the Teir 1 BC BPO's.

It also adds a certain volatility to the BPO/Book market, the vague CCP guy also noted some were reduced, whether that's books (ppl ship books to null, jita hubs etc) The stealth nature of the change may have left some out of pocket.

This is the result of the battlecruiser tiericide. It has nothing to do with what the OP is referring to.

Cap ship bpo's went up a lot.Checked them last week when i heard of the change and varies between 50 m to 200 m more expensive as before currently. That's just carrier/dread/freighter btw.Motherships and titans are higher offcourse .Think mom's wen up 1 B + and titans 10 B + npc price.

We'll see how much they swing down but i've got good faith my 100 + cap ship bpo's in labs just have gotten a ccp buff Blink

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

To be honest I do not understand this mechanism fully (read: at all).

Looking at the market in Lonetrek and Forge for Drake BPOs - the NPC price has gone up like anything in the last month or so.

What are the factors that control the price? What increases the NPC price and what reduces it?

Is there a chance that Drake BPOs will go back to the 342m base price?

Any colour you like.

The drake BPO went up like all the other battlecruisers did, before they decided to change skillbooks and bpos across the board. You should really keep up on the whole tier changes and their effects. The drake bpo baseprice i believe now is 520M, but could be off a bit here or there.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Funny how almost all of the Median NPC prices are very very round numbers.
Tis a good plan on behalf of CCP and mind you, BPO's actually feel like they are worth something now.

Apparently the changes were implimented on the test server, so to see the equilibrium point for the items I would check there as they effect is probably a week or more older.

I am just posting to express my outrage in the Skill Book price hike. I was just about to buy a couple of very expensive skill books to look it up today to make the purchase and find out that i'll need hundreds more millions of isk to purchase them. GRR! X
