Symbol embroidered on black cloth, delivered to the desk of Lucius Vindictus.

The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 25:10 wrote:
There will be neither compassion nor mercy; Nor peace, nor solace for those who bear witness to these Signs and still do not believe.

These words, my old friend. By the time you read these words, you will already have been told about what has happened to your organization.

For the rest, I suppose an explanation is warranted.

At 04:30 of the 8th of March, in the Palas system of the Khanid Kingdom, agents of the Faith hidden within Samarkand Financial gave the signal that they had successfully brought Samarkand Point Defense Station into an offline state, simultaneously incapacitating all communications, weapons batteries, and the tower's force field, thus rendering it completely defenseless and unable to alert the world to its plight. This signal went to the Faithful waiting in orbit of the nearby planet, and who immediately descended upon the vulnerable facility.

As the helpless facility was brought under the shadow of the fleet on its holy mission, the vessels each took their places and commenced liberating the contents and staff from the confines of the station. Under the supervision of Al-Muhsi Cer'ana, the transport vessels at once discharged their compliments of security personnel upon connecting with the starbase. Due to their expertise and equipment suited for the non-lethal subduing of belligerents as well as the total control over the starbase's systems obtained by infiltrators, the station was secured without precious loss of life. Within minutes, the entire tower was fully secured, and the unenlightened were brought aboard the various transports, along with all portable equipment and significant record deposits.

Leaving behind a barren husk, the fleet scattered, acting on the intelligence acquired beforehand. The Faithful's infiltration experts had acquired the complete personnel listings of the starbase, including families and residences. Even as the ships scattered to their pickup-points, the families of these staff members were already being collected and prepared. and by the time this release is made public, they will have been safely brought to processing facilities.

These men and women, all once chained to the whims of worshippers of false doctrines, shall now be granted the opportunity to see the true Light of the Faith. The Divine Invitation to ascend above their lives of the past shall be extended, and after being purged of sin, those who remain will be sent upon their own holy missions.Their children, now rescued from a fate of heresy, shall grow up instructed in the proper Faith as laid down by the Blessed Prophet millenia ago.

Actually, you'd just take the valuable stuff (hangars, assembly arrays, and laboratories) and leave the offline tower and defenses intact. It's not really worth the time or effort to assemble a full siege fleet to take care of an abandoned tower off in some forlorn corner of space. (This leads to issues with abandoned towers littering space, but that's a whole another can o' worms I'm not even going to touch here.)

Disgusting...

This betrayal leaves a dirty taste in my mouth. I see that we must tighten our surveillance and may have some cleansing to do in our personnel roster. Cultists are a rot, and this one must have run deep to get to this level of security access. Though we had quickly identified the traitors that were immediately involved, the damage was already done.

I'm used to the threat of piracy and wars between capsuleer corporations where both parties and their crews understand the risks. But this is something else entirely. I wasn't in Khanid at the moment this happened, but I already knew we weren't dealing with normal raiders when I heard the attackers simply murdered the slaves while only abducting the Amarrian staff. Many of these slaves were highly educated and carefully selected from the best slave auctions throughout the Kingdom. When raiders discard such valuable human resources they are obviously not motivated by ISK ransoms.

Now that I have returned I will assess the situation with my CEO. In the meantime I call on my friends and any Imperial loyalists who may not know me personally but wish to assist a corporation in need in searching for this scum and hopefully retrieving these civilians.

I find it hard to believe that the attack involved the wholesale slaughter of slaves while giving preferential treatment to Amarrian personnel. It's more likely that all crew aboard the starbase were subdued with force commensurate with any resistance given, and then provided a chance to swear off fealty to what the Seekers would consider a false doctrine and corrupt empire. If I have learned anything from my conversations with Koronakesh it is that when his organization embarks on a holy mission, they hold all life, regardless of ethnic, national, or religious affiliations in equal regard.

Now, I'm not saying that there was no loss of life, or will not be any loss of life later on that is still related to this incident. I am only saying that I doubt there was any sort of consideration given to whether or not anyone aboard the starbase was a slave or a free man or woman.

What you find hard to believe or what your conversations with this heretic might have been are no comfort to the dead nor the living. These raiders had planned in advance who they were going to abduct, and they were sadly successful in singling out the Amarrians and their families. Though if they are still alive now is unknown to me.

Good to know the homicidal maniac is egalitarian in his pursuit of the death of all mankind. Really Uraniae, you could at least give the benefit of the doubt to someone a tad more deserving than Koronakesh and his ilk.

To be perfectly honest I see no reason to even attempt to comfort the dead. Further my words simply weren't intended to offer comfort to anyone at all. I do not know the details of the operation so perhaps you are right, perhaps the Seekers specifically targeted those of Amarrian descent. Perhaps I'll ask Koronakesh about it, but my belief still stands. I believe the Seekers to, at the very least, be true to their own beliefs in of offering salvation or death to any that cross their path, regardless of ethnicity.

You say that as if I don't give the benefit of the doubt to plenty of people already. More than likely I give it to more people than you would. A few fitting examples would be a good many Matari, Sani Sabik, Nation Loyalists, and Gallenteans, even "rogue" drones.

Well aren't you a pretty little imbecile. What you believe is irrelevant, the Equilibrium has only one end game in mind and it does not involve holding hands in harmony.

I imagine your quality of life would be significantly improved if your IQ was a tiny bit larger than your shoe size. Being pretty goes only so far in capsuleer life.

Since you are probably wondering 'what is the mean Angel saying?' I'll spell it out for you.

I was not implying that the aforementioned 'excellent miss Fehrnah' was agreeing on Nacittal's ways, I however was mocking her about the naïveté of her beliefs. Believe it or not, there is a difference.

You're lousy at the big bad Angel routine, Vincent.

But not as lousy as you are at pretending you know what you're talking about when you get cornered on your bullshit.

You're not really familiar with whom you're talking to, are you pirate?

She's likely ten times more intelligent than most of the persons in your employ, a brief examination of her conversation history here on IGS would point that out to you.
