The Community Team is looking to extend it's reach by calling out would-be volunteer moderators for the forums. Help us help you keep the forums clean and enjoyable!

This new team will also work closely with the Community Team to gather your feedback and make sure your voices are heard by the game developers.

Please read the blog by CCP Navigator, and if you have any questions, please make good use of this comment thread.

Just when i was about to post something you deleted my comment. :(

Anyways wanted to say that i really dislike the fact that you need to "hire" somebody to do your JOB on the forums but yeah .. that's my 2 cents in all of this

Uhh... that's what companies usually do. They hire people. To do jobs.

I have to admit this is tempting, but I don't know if I'd trust myself not to try and push my own ideas and concerns or to ignore ideas and concerns of others I'd disagree with.

Fire everyone, let the community do the job for free.

The QA strategy moving forward to other sections of the game.

To be honest, this is why this group are part of a team and not a sole individual who gets to push their own ideas Smile

The aim of the program is for the volunteer team to identify trends, concerns and issues and focus this player feedback to the Community team so that we can then present it to the developers working on projects to improve EVE.

Some of the flaming/trolling/etc. stuff is what makes these forums so gripping. Hopefully the volunteers will maintain a balance Twisted

Yeah, this does seem kinda off....

Fire the community team then ask for volenteers to do it for free....

Isn't that kinda CCP trying to have their cake and eat it....

If it hadn't of been for the laying off of the community team I would of been tempted to apply, but now.... No, I don't think so.
Not for the reasons above but simply because it feels dis-respectful to the people who recently lost their jobs.

how the "6 hours a week" thing works ?

must be planned before doing it, like 2h this day, 2h this day and 2h the last day, or it can be done anytime, like 10mn now, and 30mn in 5hours, then 2hours the next day... ?
for example, if the guy see something wrong, he can log his CCL account immediatly to correct it and log off after when it's done ?

Rhinanna,

I completely understand where you are coming from here. I am truly sorry that you feel that way and I am guessing it is no consolation that this plan was in development for quite some time before the restructuring took place.

The Community team were reduced in numbers by 50% and we have two ways we can go forward now:

1, Keep a focus on the forums and news, deal with moderation, assist with Fansite applications and answer petitions.

2, Bring a group of volunteers on board which allows us to focus on maintaining a high level of communication in forum threads, working directly with development teams on issues which are important to the player community, creating a series of video 'In Development' blogs, work on projects to assist new players as well as doing all of the above.

I would like the Community team, and the volunteers, to significantly enhance communication directly to players about what is happening in EVE today, tomorrow and well into the future.

Yes, Raid'En, that is exactly how it would work. Volunteers, by their very nature, give their time and can so so in a manner which suits them best. Back when I was a volunteer you could do your volunteer hours in one shift or split them up as much as you would like. That decision is totally in the hands of each volunteer.

This is bullshit man, what's next? recruiting players to hunt for bugs on the test server?

I agree what you are saying and please don't take anything I've said as an attack on yourself or Guard, it isn't meant that way at all, I have a lot of respect for you guys and the amount of flak you take for things that aren't your fault in any way shape or form.

I do however feel that this could of been delayed a bit, but I suppose the good of the game needs to take piroity and a good forum is a large part of that. I can respect that.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, not sure I deserve it but thanks Twisted

Bearing in mind Navigator's reply, I may put in a app in a few weeks (working hectic overtime at the moment and wouldn't want to till I felt comfortable with it, sure no-one would want me to till I did feel comfortable with it)

Out of curiosity, would it also include the in-game moderation that ISD used to do in the 'newbie' channel?
