was wondering if i have a character that ganks an industrial ie badger, and my alt picks up the loot will the alt get a suspect timer? making it a target for all?

and if so how do people get by that? do they use a cloaky transport to grab the loot then cloak off?

Thanks

Yes, your alt will be a suspect. However, the good news is that most people don't engage suspects, so you're probably okay. Obviously don't do it on a trade hub undock or on the Kap-Niarja gate.

You can also use either a cloaky haulers or a blockade runner, if you're nervous. Get next to the can, align, scoop, warp. It's still possible to catch those, but much more difficult.

Good luck!

You go suspect because the wreck belongs to the victim, not you.

My advice is to open the wreck, highlight everything, enter warp, and swipe the stuff at the last possible moment before your warp drive kicks in. It's the method I use and it defeats even those people who have been waiting for a chance to shoot at my loot scooper.

Even quicker if you didn't notice, Wescro....the "loot all" button down at the bottom.

Ah, you're right. I never use that though since miner wrecks have ore and I don't want to loot that (doesn't fit in my scouting merlin). So I highlight everything but. Still, speed is of the essence for this trick and that is an excellent addition.

Does salvaging that victim's wreck flags you as well? Im fairly sure ot does but what about tractor beams? And is it flag as soon as salv cycle starts or only when complete? Im just wondering if a super V trained noctus could snag that shiney wreck and whisk it 80km away while running MWD? Then salvage and scoop from extreme distance.

No, salvaging yellow wrecks does not make you suspect. Salvage away.

Tractor Beams = Suspect.
Salvage = Clean.

IIRC, you can easily make a filter that excludes ore from the list of things shown in a wreck.

I thought the wreck would be owned by the person who ganked them not the victim. If that isn't the case then yes you have to hit warp and loot all just before you warp. If it is owned by the ganker then the ganker can set wreck to abandoned while his alt picks it up. It is all a matter of timing and planning
