As a Recon/Blackop pilot I welcome a nerf. being able to cloak indefinitely in a system with 8 accounts scattered around is a game breaking mechanic, how many times have you jumped into system dropped probes and presto the guy cloaks up, if my probes are deployed and i'm patient i should get a shot at getting him, they've got a pos/station they can haul ass to if they need to.

Okay, so say we eliminate AFK cloaking.

Now I get a dram, fit it out to go 5-6k m/s cap stable, and leave that flying into space. Sure, you can probe it down, but by the time you warp to it it's off grid. AFK cloaking v2.0, nothing changes. So then nerf the dram next.

Is this really a "nerf ratters" thread?

And a couple of points: If you enter system, drop probes, and the guy cloaks up... he's probably not afk...
Also, a dramiel, burning in a random direction at top speed can easily be taken down.... Warp in a sniping Tier 3 BC... warp... shoot, warp shoot... I doubt you'll need to do it a third time!

Finally, it's unrealistic to expect people to get in a fast frigate if they have to go respond to a child's needs for 10 or 20 minutes...

Hey look guys, something new and interesting is being proposed. I think this warrants an engaging discussion regarding the subject.

Wait here, the ratters will be along shortly once they've dried their eyes and managed to get out of the corner of the room where they've been rocking back and forth sobbing for hours.

Have a heart, a non-blue face in local is TERRIFYING if you can't pvp your way out of a wet paper bag. Don't you know that 0.0 refers to the level of opportunity those evil piwates are meant to have to blow up innocent ratters?

IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!

And as a person that flies HICs and DICs I say we nerf bubbles as well. Because as someone that can run gate camps in low sec I feel that we should be able to run camps in 0.0 as well. It only makes sense.

Okay, so we eliminate bubbles from 0.0.

So you can make 8 accounts, spending 4 billion isk a month in PLEX, and sitting cloaked AFK, leaving your computer running 8 EvE accounts on 24/7 in order to....... kill ratters.

I mean... I'm not really seeing the problem here. How many accounts do you feel it should take to kill ratters? At least a dozen?

probe it a second time and make the 500km warp in no time. Specailly if you narrowed down his trajectory with d-scan and was aligned while the probes were running. Land 100-150km away from him. As long as you have something faster than him (as unlikely as the OP plan is, add to that a loki booster and snakes makes it even less likely), and you have a dram kill taken from someone who had a terrible idea.

The problem I see isn't cloaking. It's running 8 accts. That's just sad and pathetic IMO.

How afraid of internet spaceship loss do you have to be to not undock without a personal fleet in tow? How unlikeable must you be to not have any friends that'll fly with you? So many corps looking for pilots- but clearly the goal of an MMO is for people to steadfastly avoid personal interaction, and just create friends instead of making some. Roll

What ruins the immersion of MMO's is the players themselves. They are the ones that forget GAME and simply boil Eve down to a fancy calculator. It's EFT with graphics.

It's only by 'working the system' that we can have alts of any kind- brainless slaves dedicated to enriching one 'favored' toon. All that multi-box crap is the 'game breaking' going on.

It's a cheat. Sure the game, being a just a game, allows you to be three different people on a single account....but it breaks the spirit of the game. It absolutely detracts from everyone else that still sees Eve as a game for enjoyment.

If you're running 24 toons, Eve isn't a game anymore to you, and it's terrible for those players that actually want to play this game. I'll say it right here- if you're too scared to jump into a system without a disposable alt to scout--- then you should stick to carebearing in high sec, you coward. Or better yet, make friends that will scout. It's an MMO, after all- intel channels exist.

I find people that won't undock with less than 10 personal toons multi-boxed, are simply covering the fact that they can't get anyone else to fly with them, or they're just too terrible at Eve to get a kill any other way.

Disclosure--- I run an FW alt. I wanted to try out orbital bombardment but this toon is a criminal and unwelcome in FW, so I created an alt just to fly FW PvP. The moment Dust comes to planets in null sec (where they actually matter to people) this toon will again be the only one I need.

I may even get blown up....oh noes. Not in a video game!!!
