News like this is something we can all celebrate.

If it's such good news, then there will be an official CCP source you can cite instead of the head of goon propaganda.

I find it interesting that Mittens knew all the details (exact software, bans, and etc.) in great detail.

The botting forums have exploded with rage. Aslo the producers of said tools have pulled them.

You would know this if you simply read the linked article.

So it scans your computer for bots? Like does it check your hard drive or just the client's integrity when running? Reason I ask is cause I do enjoy privacy. I wont' download origin and I'd hate for Eve to become Origin

Does this mean people can stop confusing multiboxers with botters? One could hope.

I dont need to read forums or w/e where casual botters go nuts. Here's my post in layman's terms

Player A create 2 accounts to bot (maybe not to rmt, maybe just for casual income while being lazy)

Player B creates 20 accounts to bot (or enough to fill a corp!)

Player A is the one going to be banned every time because he represents a tiny fraction of revenue and is a negligible loss, where as Player B generates a considerable amount of revenue for the game company and is thus an asset and not something you take action against unless you are 200% committed to Botting and RMT removal at any cost.

I'm yet to see any game company that is 200% committed to removing ALL botters (or rmters in general).

LOL. The terminology used was: "modified client" I think you Runescape bots are safe. This dude right here is exactly the reason why this story is great news. Botters beware, your days are numbered.

Hey it's a peice of **** game. Never once botted Eve because I actually care about it. You know as much as somebody can care about intellectual property; more than Runescape less than a soul mate,

It's a shame CCP won't do anything about the statistically proven botters that spam Jita local.

Alot of them are real players also. Yes there are some bots but theres alot that if you try to talk to in private they actually will talk to you

We will not state what changes were made but yes there were changes made targeting specific malicious actors who are aware of the fact that they were targeted and have made some early attempts at guessing how they were targeted on their forums which is where this information seems to be sourced from. We don't have any further comment on the topic at this time but it can stay open for discussion as it's based in fact.

This sounds eerily like a statement you'd get from military officials.

I use a private overseas proxy that issues me IP addresses traceable to a selection of countries other than my own. I have, at times, forgotten to disable it when logging into Eve after... acquiring a movie. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

As long as CCP doesn't take suspicious IP behavior and dubious proxy programs in general as a sign of players doing something wrong, I don't mind.

I think we can all appreciate at this time, that CCP do not want to give any clues as to what/how/why they did this.

I, for one, appreciate my less botty EVE.

If all the 'alleged' botters are banned, will I be the only player left?

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.
