Drone boats idea

So.... I have no idea what is up with CCP and their logic when it comes to such things. But, drone boats are drone boats and should not just be "10% damage and hitpoint increase per level to drones"

It SHOULD read
"10% increase to drone EFFECT and hitpoints per level"

If you want a full flight of Large webber drones, ecm drones, etc.... that BS/Cruiser/BC/Dessie level I, II, III, IV, V is pretty much useless unless you are tackling a smart bombing target.

So, how about it folks?

IT SHOULD ONLY affect DRONE boats to make it not imba.

The specific amounts are up to CCP, but I would really like this.
It would give drone pilots a reason to be able to use all EWar Drones.

Yes please, one of my long time wishes. It just makes no sense that a drone ship gives up half of it's dps to use other drones, but the other drones are just as good on every ship that has a complimentary drone bay and still does full dps.

About ECM drones- halve their current strength so this change wouldn't make them retardedly OP. As a side bonus they wouldn't be so stupid on all ships as they are now :)

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Yeah this can be a solution to the ECM drone problem as well

Why not. So far most of utility drones can be situationally shoehorned into "poor man's replacement of something" role at very best.

Although it's better to keep track on effects of different drones separately if needed.

Future of T3 cruisers - multi-tool they aspired to be instead of sledgehammer they have become

True, but everyone still able to use ECM drones, and the drone bonus is not a pure gallenet thing ( see amar recon )

IMO is better something racial related about ships and drones , like add a secondary E_WAR bonus on specific drones for each race, examples:
Amar ships get % extra strengh of TD drone's effect
Caldari to EC one
Minmatar % to TP kind
and Gallente extra % to SD

( will be carefull about the large energy neutralizing ones , if they can insta look a small target in range )

ATM some kind of drones are just a waste of Mbits, need a rebalance on base strenghs to make all viable, truely usefull and no overpowered

While we're at it turn all specific damage types of Projectile and missiles ships to an overall damage as well.


Don't think that is an option, there could be an option for a support carrier though giving bonuses on e-war and or other drones.

I did not think of the Rattlesnake when I made that point, though its not Caldari, its a pirate BS. I am not a fan of ECM drones to be honest, and I do admit that one part of me does like this idea, but its giving boosts to specialisations outside of the Gallente race, which I doubt will happen.

This just in: Gallente drone boats also seem to have the magic ability to get more out of Hornets, Vespas, and Wasps. To say nothing of Warriors, Valkyries, and Berserkers. I'd add in Acolytes, Infiltrators, and Praetors but... lol?

There are perfectly good reasons to think this is a bad idea (and some reasons to think it's a good one as well) but this isn't one of them....

I'm saying that the direct parallel is comparing racial drone specializations, yes. I'm perfectly comfortable arguing about the idea that drone-bonused ships (Gallente or otherwise) should have bonuses to all drones regardless of their specific effects, even of those effects are normally associated with a race that doesn't normally use drones.
