Don't know what loot Hilmar drops when you gank him.

And of course which CONCORD rules apply to IcelandP

Would make a good video presentation at the next fanfest keynote Big smile

If CCP wanted to make a really big isk sink, Hilmar could start raffle selling chances to pod him. They'd sink Billions. Smile

OP, there is another solution; you can have one of the salvaging services corporations in EVE salvage your missions for you and you split the isk resulting with them. Mostly for level4 but some will do level3s. You don't have to salvage yourself and it's basically free money if you were going to not salvage anyway. Actually, newer players can make some decent isk doing salvage work for income...
Maybe you could do level 3s (not blitz, to give you time to skill up some) without salvaging (salvage isn't really all that great from level 3s anyway) until you got to level 4s?

Personally, when I do/did missions I just blitzed them with only 1 exception, Angel Extravaganza IV. With that one I logged in an alt in the Noctis and cleaned it up. But other then that one I usually didn't even bother.

Actually its a good example for the OP that many dont take for granted. In this particular mission there is a Silo in the..5th? room. No matter if im looting the rest of the mission or not i always blow up the silo and loot it. It will always drop a hardwire and sometimes you luck out and you get a nice one. The best one i have gotten is the 5% to mining yield one which used to be fairly exspensive (currenly its only 100 mill or so, but still).

After a while you will learn what missions has structures that drop loot, and i think http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=HomePage might tell you as well. In most cases tho its small things and its not worth it unless your looting anyway.

In some missions you will encounter "elite" versions of the normal ships. Sometimes these will drop nice modules for you. Heck, I've encountered "elite" versions of regular belt rats while mining, which have dropped faction modules (20M ISK from a frigate, while mining? I won't complain).

So yes, it is economically worthwhile to loot some of these wrecks while running missions. The drops do come from "boss" or "elite" NPCs.

Some missions are worth it more then others to loot/salvage. If you're new as said it can be helpful gaining a bit more isk. It's been a long time since I did level 1-3's, but in those days some structures dropped some nice +3 implants. That where tough missions though.

If I mission now I skip looting some missions, like (yawn) 'duo of dead', at the other hand 'The damsel in distress' still gives great loot.

Since wrecks take roughly 2 hours to disappear I may at times run a few missions quickly after each other, bookmark the wrecks and after 4-5 missions I go collect the loot and and salvage, then rinse and repeat or call it a day.
