Jessica Danikov > EVE is your real life. the rest is fantasy. caught in a corporation. no escape from banality. open up yours eyes, peer through pod good and seeeeeee. I'm just a poor pilot, I need no sympathy. because I'm easy scam, easy go, little isk, little know. anyway the solar wind blows...

Honestly looking forward to WoD to be released someday, anyone know if they still wanna use carbon? its a pretty engine aside from bodies being somewhat sclpted and immobile (at least in eve release, and yes i mean boobies, chest when breathing in particular), and if its stillg oing to try and have all the stuff they originally talked about having in it.
Carbon is still being used, but I believe its development has been branched off from EVE. I'm guessing this is a main reason as to why there's little to no development for EVE's avatar features. Right now, CCP Reykjavik is focused on the spaceship side of things while CCP Atlanta develops World of Darkness and the engine that supports the gameplay they're aiming for, which is conveniently avatar-based. Once the WoD version of Carbon is complete, I can see it being used for EVE over its current variation of Carbon.

Also WoD is based on Old WoD so I very much doubt it will have anything in common with Twilight type of literature, or be dumb down for teen consumption. WoD is much more grimdark. In stile and feel I expect something much closer to Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines, but with very few scripted quests and more of a sandbox game stile.

I certainly hope it's kept on the old Wod system VTMB was a great game and one I still play even now (though much modded).

Since it's a power the prince has, I'm guessing they can declare a blood hunt and it leads to permadeath. It propably can't be just called on anybody and the victim actually needs to break some of the rules before he becomes a valid target.

Hmm, that actually sounds as an interesting concept. Being hunted, running away, kill the hunters, cover your tracks. Maybe even return for revenge in disguise years later...

FFS can't you just give us beta already to fap all over it?

I hope the WoD version of "highsec" will start with all the buffs rather than needing to be ganked X number of times before your mining barge gets buffed.

Run to highsec. Drop into an NPC corp and rely on CONCORD.

Then just use an alt and awox.

Did you mean "decadent" by any chance? Oh, yeah we are decadent like a mofo in da hood. Either we fly around in a pod filled with goo or we are confined to our "captain quarters" with permalocked door and tv stuck at derp channel. Masters of da universe all da way...

If BunnyVirus is still looking at this thread (or anyone that would know), one clarificaton i would like (if its been decide yet), how are the vampire servers onna be handled? like, i CCP gonna continue with the eve idea of one erver//one world, or is ti gonna be "join server one, thats the rp serer" or "join server 2, they have the big 1337 guild".

or are they going to go the way similar to STO and other games where they made one serve, but different instances of the same "room" to prevent overcrowding?

personally i prefer an EVE approach so i can see everyone at once, and interact with all of them.

i would understand if one of the other 2 methods was used instead, but the single world way just seems more CCP to me, since thats what makes eve uique, it could be a good selling point with WoD, what with eventual Vampire Shadowarmies, and true vampire cities kind of population.

wonder how big the game woul eventually get, i know they mentioned several large cities, just wodnering if they would plan on ading inreasingly more and larger population areas in case for whatever reason it gets too crowded.

prolly useless to even ask these at this point in WoD development, but it would seriously influence my excitement and probability of having an active account on WoD in addition to my 2 eve accounts.

I doubt the servers could handle a single shard F2P(which is what I believe WOD will be). Not to mention without it being instanced peoples video cards will fry due to the rendering of avatars. Which is one reason I think CCP has been hesitant to open the door in CQ.

Heheh :)

Maybe free to play is permadeath and pay to play is resurrection. That would be novel.

I'm going to get out my old crystal ball and try and predict the first nerf to the (unreleased) game.

I'm seeing something about permadeath....

nope permadepth in WoD is awesome
