Hoping to get some info on this problem of mine, tried to do some reserach but didnt get what i wanted. Basically before i start an extraction cycle the menu tells me i will get 45k material per hour. After i confirm this the program output drops to 35k per hour. Numbers vary between planets but it always drops. Is this skill based or some sort of bug?
Thank you in advance.

It is based on your planetlogy skills. The higher your skills (planetlogy and adv planetlogy) the more accurate the data (colors) are to the auctual position of the materials on the planet. Lower skills means the data (colors) displayed may have some degree of deviation of where the actual materials are on the planet.

Think of it as your character is too dumb to get accurate data from the planet survey. He thinks the data is accurate, but in truth he is off on the readings and the materials on planet are actually a few inches in another direction. With higher planetlogy skills your character is better to read the data (colors) so there is less deviation to the actual materials on planet and the colors displayed.

Before you commit the extractor heads you see the EXPECTED extractions per cycle, and after you commit the changes you will see the ACTUAL extraction cycles. You can increase the actual and expected values by increasing your skills.

Better answers are to be found in the same thread from 2 days ago.

There is a little bit more involved beyond just the Planetary skills. The extraction rate will vary over time, thus the peaks and valleys in the graph.
