Came expecting a thread on unsupported titans in lowsec. Left disappointed.

All of the above, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to anchor and lock your Titan in a POS?

I know, I know, game balance issues...

Supers are almost exclusively held on dedicated characters/accounts. As for the rest of the people in this thread, only the scrubbiest of scrubs use holder alts.

Why do you do it? Other then the cool flashy DD when you activate it.

it's called a holding alt. It's where you \have a second toon that logs off in it. The toon can only sit in it though. Then you do stuff on your main

It's bad game design.

SCs and Titans should be able to dock, or should be given the ability to engage in other content. How about some PVE content designed for supercaps, or some PVP content designed for titans? Right now neither exist unless you consider bridging to be PVP.

IIRC, if you put a hanger in a hanger, the server explodes. One day they may be able to dock, but since anyone who can afford a SC/Titan can afford an alt account (i.e. another sub,) I don't see CCP rushing to fix the problem.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Most people would not consider a floating coffin a "Retirement home".
A retirement home, you can leave every once in awhile, a coffin is for life.......

Let me tell you about Holder Alts, and Alt Accounts.

Thanks, been there, done that. It's still a dead character......Lol

Docking a titan/SC is different than docking a standard carrier/rorqual/orca how?

Not that being unable to dock a super is really a problem; I'm perfectly content with having one of my characters dedicated towards a supercap. It would be nice to securely dock them in some way to a POS (or something similar), but the safe logoff timer was a good move to alleviate this a bit.

...intensive purposes? really? wow...kids today...

oh, and, yeah. super pilots are alts. leaving supers in POSes is a terrible idea, so they just log these chars off in space.

Just out of curiosity how much isk and training skills time does it take to have and properly fit and fly one of those ships?.

Someone said you can't do PVE on it, may I ask why?

It takes roughly a year or so to train into, and more ISK than you've ever seen.

As for PvE, tell Chribba you can't. See what he says.

Maybe in 2015 CCP comes out with a death-star esque building that is the size of a planet, costs 1 trillion isk, and allows the docking of anything smaller than a moon.

A titan generally runs about 80 billion isk at least and flying it to its full potential takes about two years.

CMD Ishikawa wrote:

Well it's huge, its slow, can only lock 3 targets, locks about half as fast as a tier 3 battleship, is a MAJOR target, XL guns have terrible tracking, and XL guns when put on titans have the additional drawback that they do less damage to targets smaller than the gun signature resolution of 2000 m.

If you had an Abaddon sitting perfectly still and an Avatar sitting perfectly still within its optimal range, your 12000 paper DPS titan will only do about 700 DPS to the battleship, and significantly less if it starts moving. Even the titan moving at half speed brings that to below 300 DPS.

But if that battleship pilot is dumb enough to MWD straight toward the titan he'll get hit with the full 12000 DPS.

People leave them in POS bubbles. Saw an Avatar sitting in a 0.2 the other day. Don't remember where or who it belonged to. It was somewhere in Black Rise.
