Yep. While the people there are helpful in many ways in terms of basic gameplay and fitting advice, they're also nearly all solo players so they'll naturally encourage newbies down that path aswell. If they got to talk to both solo players and player corpies more, they'd have a more balanced view of Eve Online.

Question: Why is instant handover of one a red flag? I ask because some corps require API to join, so if I give them one how does that make me red flagged?

Most new players are reluctant to hand over an API for fear of somehow losing an account. You usually need to tell a newb how to make an API, and what things you need to check off.

An experienced Awoxer will either not hand over an API if his account is dirty, or will do it instantly if his account is clean.

Or he may even hand it to someone who is offline, and then ask an online member to add him to corp.

Or even just hand it over and wait ... lots of corps have incredibly lazy HR officers.

I had a quick mess around with a API tool, but what exactly should we be looking for on an awoxers API?

Except the obvious trans-fare of a few hundred million isk from a random alt lol.

The simple thing to look at is his employment record. His kill stats. Who he killed, what they were in, and what he used for the kills.

Where he gets his money.

And do these things match what he told you?

If you have no need of being a formal corp - i.e. no need for POSes and corp hangers, and no need to shoot each other for fun or share bookmarks, you can just function as a social group with a chat channel.

For more information on the New Order of High-Sec, please visit: http://www.minerbumping.com/

Remember that whenever you have a bad day in EVE, the correct reponse is "Thank you CCP, may I please have another?"

I'm sure it will never be abolished( in high sec at least) until it starts to effect CCP's wallet IRL:) IE Ragequits.
I actual listened to a TS3 recording of this guy getting awoxed the other night and he lost something like 4or 5b , he was actually crying and sounded like he was going to go hang himself just because some awoxer wanted a laugh.

So we should turn highsec into a Hello Kitty themepark because some unstable person is literally crying over game pixels he can replace by purchasing about US$100 worth of PLEX from CCP?

I'd be quite worried if he WASN'T upset about losing US$100. That's not pocket change for normal people.

He didnt' say that he had paid real money for it, he said it was about $100 worthof plex to replace it. As the saying goes, don't fly it if you can't afford to lose it.. and I would add don't fly it if you have not settled it in your mind that someone can take it from you quite quickly.

And losing a thing that would cost $100 or countless hours to rebuild is upsetting to people, and I'd be worried about someone who didn't find it upsetting. Because why would you spend weeks or months of your time building something you don't care about?
I'd have thought being on a forum that feeds on tears, you'd understand where they come from.

There is a balance. I do understand the frustration of losing a high cost ship, but the fact is i know how quicly something can go in this game. Spending weeks/months to build something you care about, needs to be sustainable. You need to be able to afford to lose it. Since they are all pixels in the end a little reality needs to seep in and you need to roll with the punches for this game. If they ragequit for good, as i know several peeps who only temp ragequit, the game is prolly not for them.

Here is a famous quote from Lt Ronald spiers in Band Of Brothers:

"The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it."

Seriously, this attitude in the Eve game is essential IMO. I'm not saying that the part without mercy, compassion..etc is aimed at all people in Eve. Just your in-game enemies - and you really don't always know who your EvE enemies are.

I'm not a carebear... I'm a SPACE BARBIE!  Now... where's Ken?

He's right, though. In other games, OP's corp would be called a "casual guild", with minimal functions beyond a shared chat channel and rather meaningless guild tag. Leveling guilds are a good example. You chat together, you might group up for quests, but there's no formally arranged activities or much of a leadership structure beyond who has invite rights. You can't really do the same thing in Eve Online because of the threat of awoxing and war decs, nor is there a need to.

You can make a casual guild in EvE Online. You just need to not make it a Corporation.

Have a set of chat channels. Have a voice server. Have an EvE Mail list for announcements. Have a web forum. Individuals can run single account corps to deal with owning a POS, but should not recruit others into it.

Easy.

No corp: no corp theft and no AWOX safaris.
