Greasemonkey scripts work in various browsers, so I thought that I'd write a script that enables img bbcodes in signatures. It was just a couple of minutes of work.

Enjoy.

Edit: slight update. It's case insensitive now.
Edit2: And made it work with img tags in posts while I was at it.

It’s something we’ll be enabling in the future but it was dropped from this release in the interest of doing it properly/safely.

I'd rather you didn't. A link should suffice in the main body, if I want to see the image I'll click the link. Signatures are another matter of course.

i think the problem here is that people dont believe the devs. after seeing feature after feature forgotten and abandoned in game with promises of iteration. ccp has spent all its capital in "dont worry we'll fix it"

You'll get it for free, just wait a bit. I prefer a working forum with features added over time (= image upload etc.) instead of having tons of half done stuff instantly.

lol, tons of half done stuff instantly is CCP's MO, have you not been around for the last few expansions? Roll

What part of that 'bandaid' gives about the same work as implementing the in the forum upload space you haven't understood ?

As CCP Rhayger said right now the issue is about planning work hours for tasks, and those things take time, your 'bandaid' would take the same time being approved (working at a company like CCP is not the same as you making bandaids in some personal forums where ppl fool around) and the implementation is about the same as the first idea.

And yet, the first idea is mired in reengineering the web to meet CCP's security expectation whereas, approved image hosting sites pretty much ensure non-malicious content as a matter of liability.

It's just a thought.

As for it being a lot of work, not really. You can't tell me this forum doesn't have something like a host's file that blocks/allows sites contained within. So, I'm thinking there wouldn't be that much work involved.

It's just a thought.
