Solo

Good afternoon everyone,

I am a member of RvB and my desire is to mainly fly solo or with a partner, in a ship that's up the task. To give you a little background and something to aim at I have the skills to fly any ship and I'm aiming at something T1 Cruiser and down. I require something hard hitting and agile, I was thinking of a Destroyer unless there is a T1 Cruiser that can fill the role.

Any none sarcastic and flameless posts would be greatly appreciated. If you feel the need to flame, may you burn in space!

Thanks in advance,

SF

You seem to be a member of the Royal Amarr Institute, or RAI, which is a different organisation from RvB.

I hope this helped.

Vexors are pretty f***ing nasty these days; they're definitely the best T1 cruiser and flown well you'll have no dramas obliterating or driving off anything T1 cruiser and down.

Thrashers are still a great choice for plinking Frigates. I've used both the 400mm Armor with a Web and the Gryo + AC Shield ones to good effect. Other Destroyers are not bad at all but I still prefer the Thrasher for straight up gunning folks down.

In a fleet however Destroyers tend to get called primary and instapop pretty quick. You have enough Dmg to be priority above Frigates while simultaneously a low enough tank that FC's shoot you down before the Cruisers.

Since you are in RVB you could try out Nomaa which is our T1 Frig FFA system.

If you want to fly bigger ships solo you must rely more on being able to pick off isolated targets in our other systems, since there rarely are other soloers around. For that it is often an advantage to use kiting / nano ships because if you get scrammed and webbed there are usually other ppl waiting to gank you. So try to be hard to catch and pick off anyone that appears to be exposed and watch out for fast tackler frigs. And always be prepared to get ganked by a bigger fleet unless you do an arranged fight.

I am not saying that RVB is a bad place to solo, but be prepared that there are many ppl who don't have that mentallity.

I have had a lot of fun with a max ganked fit Coercer:

[Coercer, Coercer of doom]
Damage Control II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Optical Tracking Computer I, Optimal Range Script

Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S

Small Energy Locus Coordinator I
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I

No tackle and no real tank. It projects nearly 300 dps out to 21 + 3 km range. And is fantastic to pick off taclkers who head after you. It doesn't need tackle since ppl rarely have time to align out and warp off before they realise what happens. It takes some good skills to fly properly, but it is very fun.

I highly recommend this fit. The sheer amount of face melting lasers emitted from this thing are truly awesome.

Any turret destroyer can do various viable fits, both close range and long range. Fits are all over various killboards. Tip: look for people who also solo.

I wouldn't solo in a cruiser as it's is not fast and agile enough by my standards. It's also prone to being baited and ganked, since people don't want to solo cruisers in their frigates.

The Algos is a nice destroyer that a lot of ppl tend to underestimate. ~9k effective hp and 400dps makes is a nice brawling dessie, not that fast though.

This is the fit i've been using:

http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=18731955

1673ms/2357ms
405dps/432dps (navy antimatter / 2 hammerheads 3 hobgoblins)
9,038 efhp, native resists

As you can se, its sadly quite slow. It's advantage is that ppl underestimate it, mainly frigs and assaultfrigs.
