Ship retrieval from closed account...?

Allo. So a while back my friend in real life was into EVE, but drifted away from it. At the time, i loaned him a CNR and i'd like to take it for one last Yee-haw, but of course my friend does not wish to spend money to get the ship for me, nor am I inclined to have a 2nd account... so what now? Should he email CCP and ask? I have the money to buy a plex to reactivate his account, but i can't figure out whether this would allow him/me access.

Any ideas on the best/most expedient course of action?

He could reactive the account with the Hours For Plex feature, which reactivates the account for 4 hours? I believe.

You could then give him a plex/money for a plex.

If he's not interested in playing again, I suppose he could simply use the 4 hours to contract his stuff over to you.

The account can be reactivated with PLEX. The only way to get the ship would be from an active account.


If you use hours for PLEX and don't reactivate the account for a month then you can not use hours for PLEX again.

So, the procedure then? I found it hard to find any concrete step-by-step way that doesn't involve me accidentally gifting a plex to a closed account and losing it! ;D

Should i gift the plex, then get my friend to use the old login details in account management, then get him to select "activate plex" or sommat?

He can turn the account back on for 4 hrs with the PLEX reactivation option, and then be able to trade ship etc.

WARNING. If he chooses this option and then does not renew via PLEX within the 4 hrs, from my understanding, he will never get the renew with PLEX option ever again.

Buy a plex with isk for him or just buy another CNR.

Not so much "ever again" as much as "until the account has been resubscribed".

Thus if you use Hours for PLEX and don't reactivate the account, you will not have that facility again until you have subscribed for some time. Then when your subscription lapses, the Hours for PLEX facility will become available again.

Transfer the character to your account, since your friend isn't using it.

All assets will be transferred too.

It seems far more simple and will use less isk just to buy a new CNR. They aren't even expencive.

Yeah, unless you're looking @ multiple billion isk fittings, just buy a new CNR from Jita. I'm selling them cheap! :o

As far i recall you need an active account before transfer the character.
