Noob PLEX question

I've bought a PLEX from the Eve online store, got the receipt, but no PLEX code.

What am I doing wrong?

You have to redeem it through the "Gift" area when you are in the character selection screen in order to turn it into an in-game item.

Please note: if you are logged in to the EVE game client when your PLEX becomes available, you will need to log out and back in again to access the redeeming system and move your PLEX into your hangar. For security reasons there may be up to one hour delay in PLEX delivery after purchase.

The redeem button is of course the little gift box on the character screen.

Also don't redeem it until you're ready to use it. Do NOT fly around with PLEX in your cargo.

I had a friend yesterday tell me he quit EVE cause he got ganked by a Tornado due to having a billion isk and one item was a PLEX in his haul. So definitely, don't carry a PLEX around unless you are confident in your survival rate.
