What do you believe is the best form of PVP in Eve?

What do you believe is the best form of PVP in Eve and why?

I like big gang roams but sometimes I feel blobbing people is just not very fun and then occasionally you get blobbed by a bigger group.

Small groups can be fun but usually only target single roamers.

Solo pvp is nice but easily killed if you aren't well skills or get blobbed.

Flying in a big alliance is awesome but sometimes I get sad at the amount of ships I really can't use due to the fact that alliances have pretty strict docs on what can be flown, etc.

Never tried Faction warfare or RvB.

Apparently, some folks sitting outside Hek (high sec) asking in local, "Anyone want to 1v1 frigates?" think that's the height of awesome leetness...

Try faction warfare outposts in low sec. They use acceleration gates which reduce the likelihood of being blobbed. You don't necessarily need to join FW if you don't value your sec status.

The best form of PvP in EVE is the SUPRIZE BUTTSECKS!!! form. Catching that one person off guard is fun because so many of us live with the Dscan up and running all the time. The next best form is when you are sitting on a busy gate in a mean ass ship and people that you know you will destroy engage you, because there is no way you are going to lock them before they warp off. It's like christmas morning when that happens. The third and last form of PvP that is awesome is the 'I just got jumped and somehow I killed enough of them for me to warp away in structure' PvP. The people that do solo with OGB PvP are gay though. They suck on mommies nipples and cry and hide when you pop sister combat probes on them.

Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought.

FW plex fighting is best.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Lowsec, Faction War, Small - Medium Gang.

Faction War is the best PVP has to offer atm, IMO. You get small to medium engagements, from 5-30 per side and soloing is not hard to do within the plex system. Blobbing happens occassionaly but this type of fight happens often enough...

Wormholes are the best place for solo/small gang PvP. No Local = smexy.

Small gang is the best, it is where individual pilot skill matters. There are several places in Eve where this type of combat occurs. Here they are in my listed area of preference:

1. Lowsec/FW space. The FW complex system provides a great area to PVP in. The ship size restrictions plus the inability to warp to somebody in or outside a plex (or light cynos)really cater to small gangs and limit blobbing.

2. Wormholes. Great small/medium gang, but there is a lot more high level strategy/planning/logistics involved in WH fights. I personally prefer undock->pew-pew.

3. RvB. Combat is somewhat similar to FW, but its a little to restricted and contrived for my taste.

4. NPC null sec. You can find small gang combat here, but you really cannot have a prolonged fight here without getting hot dropped by the big boys.

I haven't done a lot of PvP, but faction war seems to have the most to offer because of the reasons already posted here.

High sec war decs? Bleh. Man up and grow a pair. Fight against armed ships, not carebears who don't want to fight back. These "merc" type players are a joke, posting their bloated killboards. It's the equivalent of going duck hunting with an elephant gun. You killed a freighter with your pimped Mach gank fleet? Let me call someone who cares.

Null sec? I suppose there's some good fights to be had in sovereignty warfare. At least when they actually do decide to fight instead of just bluing each other. Capital fights are cool, and put a lot on the line. Not a lot of action for small gangs, who can roam for hours on end and not find any targets.

Low sec is where it's at in my opinion. FW has war targets, capture objectives, plus you have to be on the lookout for pirates at the same time. If you're a pirate, there's plenty to do. You never have to go far to find something to do, or locate a target to shoot at.

Delivering surprise buttsecks in a Pilgrim. Or, you know, solo frigate pvp.

A spaceship carve-up between two evenly matched sides that runs for hours with no discernible outcome, then bed.

ed. Or soloing a dessy in a brawling attack frig.

A well executed, month long wardec against a big, stupid highsec alliance that whose members think they are hot stuff can be an absolute work of art.

When you've got 300 ships destroyed, not a single loss, blew up their 20 man kitchen sink fleet with 3 guys on several occasions and their member count goes down to 10% of what it was when you put the war in it's absolutely magical. It requires a large time investment as well as a significant amount of preparation and dedication, but at the end of it you're left with a bunch of people who're filled with unbridled rage whenever they see your name.

Good stuff.

See my post earlier in this thread. Hi sec war deccers are pocket lint. Target carebear, press F1, profit. It's nothing more than a shooting gallery. It takes about the same amount of skill to shoot rocks and be a miner.

When you've got 30 Guardian alts, 2 neutral boosters in fleet, spies inserted in the enemy allliance whose recruitment security involves äccept anyone"and they are all noobs under 1 month old, you can get 300 kills in your pimped-out 100MN Tengus camping the gates of Sivalla or whatever.

Good stuff.

Fixed.

You're all mad because you can't camp a gate in a 15 billion isk faction battleship with 10 neutral guardians as well as I can.

Also your post is funny because you talk about spies, shield ships and gate camping. It's like you've never actually fought a war in highsec or something.

More the "or something". I like fighting people who shoot back, and who actually have a chance to kill me. Totally risk-averse noob harvesting for e-peen is not what I feel is a way of playing a competitive game.
