I was wondering if CCP would be against a G19 applet, a Basic map applet for eveonline that shows what system your currently in and maybe systems nearby that are 2 jumps out ......

Nothing fancy and i dont believe it would be against the Rules, if so let me know , please dont LOCK this thread

in theory this should be perfectly fine, displaying your own location on an out of game device certainly does not break the EULA. However reading out client data is a little bit of a grey area. But since all you need is the client log i don't see any problems.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Yea i didnt think it would be a problem , i just couldnt think of how to get the intel i need without reading off the client , which would basically be a hack , but if theres a client log that as this info in it ..... Problem solved.

Thank you, didnt know there was a client log , or to even search for a log that would have it .......

Now im way more motivated to get this applet made , iv been reading the G19's SDK files for understanding how the code works to get started making my own applets.

Awesome and it looks like the map was released in a toolkit , found here http://community.eveonline.com/community/toolkit.asp

Thought i was going to have to make my own version of the eve universe map , that cuts development down a few months.

I spoke too soon , Theres no images of the eve universe, Looks like im going to have to make my own map .....

Got any suggestions that hopefully dont involve making a fresh new map , or that would make the process a lot easier??

Sounds like you're building an applet that functions much the same as Dotlan's radar tool. Is that right or are you looking at something different?

So, you're a bounty hunter. No, that ain't it at all. Then what are you? I'm a bounty hunter.

What about getting "real time" data, like shield level, capacitor level, current ship armor, etc? Why would something like that be against the eula?

Take a look at the Dust 514 Map, it may yield some answers for you.

Exactly...I'd actually like to build some custom ship controls (think flight simulator with switches and buttons etc), but it would only work if we could get that realtime data (the same data that would feed a g19 or whatever).

Any update/info on this at all? I would really love to develop some G19 apps that monitor ship health, weapons/modules status, etc.

I was even thinking about making a custom controller like some of the flight simulators have, so you could engage/disengage weapons and modules from a cockpit-like control with switches etc.
