Looking for suggestions for a level 4 missions runner.

Just got back into playing Eve after a 2 year break, have had fun remembering how to fly a ship this weekend so far but would like to get back to running some missions. Only problem is when i quit playing 2 years ago I liquidated all most all my ships so I am sitting on a few billion isk but I not sure what the best route to go is currently for a level 4 mission boat.

I am leaning towards a rattlesnake (or perhaps a macherial) after the reading i have done on the forums here but I haven't found a current setup for one really.

Here is my current eveboard if that helps.

Also I will be running a 2nd account as an off grid booster who is currently sitting in an Orca but seems like i was intending to move him into a tengu.

Any suggestions for a ship or fit would be greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with a Mach, which it looks like you could do pretty well in. I do have a Rattlesnake that I love, mostly because I'm paranoid and I like an over-tanked cap stable setup.

The setup I use is as follows

Large Core Defense Field Purger x3

'Arbalest' Cruise launcher x4
Drone Link Augmentator x2

Mission Specific Hardener x3
Large Shield Extender x2
Omnidirectional Tracking Link x2

Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay x3
Drone Damage Amplifier x3

Drone bay is a flight each of Hobgoblin IIs, Ogre IIs, Warden IIs, and Garde IIs.

You can replace one of the hardeners with a 100mn afterburner when you need to, and there is plenty of room to switch the cruise launchers for torps for close in missions like angel extravaganza. I get just shy of 800 dps with the cruise setup, you will probably get a little more, I don't have drone interfacing V. The whole setup should cost you less than 600 mil, most of that in the hull, and you can splurge for deadspace hardeners if you're paranoid like me. I understand that the Mach can get more DPS, but the hull alone is close to a billion isk, and it's not nearly as tanky.

From a cursory look at your skills you apear to be a Mach pilot, is that what you were flying before you quit last time?

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

A Mach hull is a lot more than a bil, also, everyone and their dog is flying one. The rattler takes a lot of skills, and you will never get Mach dps out of it, but it's just a wonderful ship that is incredibly versatile and harder than a box of boulders.

With those skills, you can always inject Marauder skillbook and get a Vargur if price is an issue (can't imagine why). The important bonus (rof and falloff) are linked to Minmatar BS, which you already have V. Boost amount and tracking bonus from Marauder skill matters less. Gank is only slightly below that of a Mach, with better tank. If you go with Mach, round out Gallante BS to V before training capital. That last 10% falloff bonus matters.

Honestly I don't quite remember it seems like I tried a Mach with a cap booster set up that I didn't quite like and after that I tried an omni tank rattler I believe. The last thing I was doing that I remember was prepping to be a carrier pilot for wormhole duty I believe.

Like Sabre said you could inject Marauder skills and be running missions in a day easy, you could just as easily buy a ach and be running as well. The one thing you might need to look at though is where you decide to run, amarr space is full of sansha and thier tracking disruption (TD) is driving turret ships to minmitar space for a respite.

In casee you didn't know the last patch cranked up NPC e-war to a 7 out of 10 and the number one complaint in the forums has been TD and how it is unmanageable. If your locked into a certain area for running missions then getting the intel on local rats will probally be the deciding factor in ship type for you.

i'll have to agree with the machariel suggestions. it's your best option hands down. if you want to get fancy, you can try a shield tanked dominix instead. from what i hear it's quite sexy with a microjumpdrive...

I should buy an Ishtar.

I prefer Rattlesnake, versatility will let you face almost any situation in front of you, npc ewar is a problem now and a Rattlesnake with sentries can be almost inmune to everything, I even manage to get a working setup against the worst permajam and dampening missions there are, you'll laugh against tracking disruption and target painting is the least of the mission runners problems.

You have to be very careful about your drones now npc hates them like never before.

Vargur -> improve gunnery support skills
Machariel -> Improve gunnery support skills then Gal BS 5
Rattlesnake -> Gal BS 5

The Varg/Mach would probably get the most out of a dedicated booster (siege + skirmish links). Rattler is a whole different kind of beast, works as either midrange brawler with sentries or as a 100km plus sentry ship (benefits from MJD). Most people use an inexpensive passive fit, but it can be fit active as well if you use a good shield booster.
