Eve is popular because it appeals to different people with different play styles. Some people like the rush of PVP. Others want to solve problems and build. PI is meant to be a problem solving endeavor.

You hear that a lot of isk can be made with PI and that you can count on that isk flowing in day after day, week after week etc. That sounds awesome and you want it, but you really have no interest in the work it takes to set it up.

PI isn't for you.

Read the thread or GTFO smacktard.

I think OP needs to be a bit less OCD about this. PI is intentionally designed where more work/clicks = more profit. In that sense, coming up with the most efficient solution for your needs is far more complicated than in other areas of industry. The fact that you're going out an considering writing a program and making thread titles like this should be a warning sign. The order of complexity jumps again when you consider buying things off the market, as now each step of the process is now subject to some kind of efficiency check. Furthermore, most PI setups have trivial setup-cost, but if you rely on the market to supply your goods, you suddenly have the potential to lose isk if you do it wrong. I would remind you that PI profits are seen over a course of months, and every time you need to rethink your setup due to changing prices, you're losing money, even if you move to a more efficient setup. If you really want to play that game, you can just run factory worlds only, which removes a good chunk of the complicating variables from the equation, just leaving you with transport, taxes, and market prices. If you want to save your sanity, make your decisions based on the planets available in the location you plan to be, and prices. Reevaluate once per month. Otherwise you may find yourself on a fool's errand.

Here is a flow chart of everything that can be made through PI.

I found it helpful for planning on what to do with my PI.

**Playing EVE at times feels like putting a 10000 piece puzzle together, enjoying the accomplishment of succedding in completing it, then having some random stranger walk by and flip your table over. **
