I would appreciate it if you could join my corps public channel PRAX - your thread will be an inspiration to all potential applicants to our corp.

I also can't believe I'm the first to do it in this thread.

Its time to stand up against the bad empire based CEO telling falsehoods about what new characters can accomplish and pushing them towards an in game experience of drudgery and loneliness keeping them in the shadow of ignorance for at nest their own profit at worse apathy towards all the experiences that Eve has to offer.

No special rules, no silly sec loss, no worrying. Just shoot and the worst that can happen is you can't jump for a bit.

Last I checked two out of those three timers still apply in nullsec and have the same exact effect.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

I've come to look at it this way:

Highsec is like boxing, lowsec is like MMA, and nullsec is like a drunken brawl. They're all legitimate ways of fighting.

So this means wspace is like ninjas. Stealth bombers everywhere!

Heh. Some fairly clueless ninjas, at times. I've seen folks bomb themselves.

They of course were MWDing into their own bombs and died, right?

Tell me they died.

Sadly it usually takes more than one bomb to take out a frigate. And anyone that is clueless enough to bomb themselves probably wouldn't be able to execute a coordinated multi-bomb attack.

I know pretty well that if you have a hound MWD into its own bomb it will blow up.

If your MWD is not on then the bomb damages you then you will survive.

Guess I was just unlucky and his MWD cycled off before my bomb went off.

Glad the other guy's died, however. :)

Sort of like that line in the Terminator, eh? "And they absolutely will not stop, EVER, until you are trolled into oblivion!"

So to update this thread with yet another boring nooblet story for anyone interested in the life of a noob.

So yesterday I was flying around and saw a ship I'd never seen before leaving a station. I looked it up and it was some kind of npc convoy ship. In fact, a convoy was apparently forming to shuttle stuff from one station to another. I quickly pulled up some web pages to read about how this all works. It seems that they are only safe to attack under certain conditions, those conditions being they are entering a station vs. leaving one, and the station owner is the 'right one' so to speak.

At any rate I followed this convoy to where it was going. As it was arriving at the destination I wasn't 100% sure the sender wasn't also the receiver, but decided "NO GUTS NO GLORY!" so opened fire with the same destroyer in the first story. No station guns fired on me, I was able to kill all 4 ships.

There was way too much booty to fit into my cargo space (that's what SHE said... when pulling on her pants, heh), so I was making runs back and forth to offload it at a station, when lo and behold I see another ship displaying curiosity in my booty (I mean pirate booty, of course). I didn't like this of course, and since this thread taught me to study and memorize the rules of engagement in hi-sec, I knew that if he tried to touch my booty (pirate booty of course), he'd be flagged suspect. What's a girl to do? Decisions decisions.

First off, didn't want to bite off more than I could chew ("that's what she said!" - oh stop it already!) like I did with the first engagement, so I pulled up info on his ship. It was a Gallente destroyer, so at least I wasn't outmatched on the ship vs. ship side of the equation. Did this guy even know I was watching him from a distance? Didn't know. I locked onto him (does he get a signal when I do that?) and pressed 'keep at distance' to about 25 kilometers, which my guns are ranged to.

I saw a flashing on and off as he was next to one shipwreck. Ah, salvaging. But will he take the next step to stealing? I decided a moving target might be better than stationary, so I changed 'keep at distance' to 'orbit at distance.' My trigger finger was getting itchy. It was then that I thought "I came to chew bubble gum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubble gum."

Unfortunately, this story ends with a whimper rather than a bang. He simply salvaged all the wrecks and then warped out. But hey, at least I tried!

Anyone you start to target lock will see it on their overview, unless you have a Passive Targeter module fitted.

Ahh, good info. Perhaps that's why he didn't steal. Next time I won't lock.

You tell some good stories bro and you seem too like to tell them.
Maybe, just maybe you should consider making a blog about your endeavors in New eden. you'll have at least one follower.

On another note. What kind of drop did you get from the convoy.
Have always wondered but never gotten around to shooting one myself.

It was stuff worth a million or two. Consisted of water, antibiotics, batteries, nuclear waste, garbage, a stack of books written by the Amarr emperor, soil, and maybe a few other things.

EDIT: also dairy products and frozen food.

I sent you a small quantity of isk as a leg up once I saw your forum post. People who help themselves, deserve respect. Posting and seeking out the answer early on in your career shows you'll probably go far in EVE.

THIS.. Eve is not about 'being super carefull and creeping around', Eve is about going out there and enjoying yourself, trying whatever tickles your fancy. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose everything, but that's part of the game.

Like the intro in the game says, your ability to survive in New Eden rests on your ability to be Bold. Dare to Be Bold, pilot.

And you dear OP noob-cakes, are on that road. The only real experience that matters in Eve is not skillpoints, not wealth, but Player Experience. Something you can't buy or train for. It's attained by DOING things.

Welcome to Eve.

Edit: Oh and good work on that convoy, you did your research, you prepped yourself, and were in the driver's seat, kudo's for that.

Ah. Collectables. Lol
No real value, but everyone has some of that stuff littering up their hold.
You're thinking, and more importantly, you're researching and doing your homework before pulling the trigger.
Well done. I predict great things for you.

The microwarpdrive, the best module ever to have on while you are about to be hit by ~a thing~ that does damage based on your signature radius.
