Losing interest

Just finding myself wondering what to do in game. I've looked at starting some incursions recently, got some pretty good skills and therefore boats to go with em. Head out to incursion area and post fit in the incursion channel and a couple of other well known channels. There's just no response, of hundreds of people not one replies. I can only conclude the problem isn't with me.

Other things that are starting to irritate me are that missile boats are just ignored entirely, if it's over 1k dps why does it matter if it's in missiles or turrets? And this "requirement" for voice comms, sheesh, hit the broadcast button man, I'm sure I can take it from there. People's unwillingness to just get and do something.

EVE's kinda stagnating for me, I want to get involved in something a bit bigger but I can't be arsed with these try-hard wannabes.

Heck, post in this thread, I might pick you to inherit all my stuff :)

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

find some cool people to fly with. The right group of people makes this game worth it, if not, it does get boring pretty quick.

Ignoring your waffle about incursions and focusing on your comments about finding Eve boring.

Off of the top of my head, 5 reasons for being on voice comms in incursions are:

  • knowing when to ignore scout char/FC align/warp broadcasts as intel comes to them about where other fleets are to contest and the likelhood of winning said contests at the last broadcast alignment. Or when to pull drones and prepare to leave a site half done so as to go win a content and come back to finish the site quicker than doing 2 without contest.

  • when to active the site gate, and not just leeroy in after someone else's visible activation (who won't be dragging the whole fleet in just for their mistake, if they even want to go in/have the logi/bonuses ready)

  • to apply spider tank reps to someone struggling hard due to neuts/preload/bombers/late broadcasts

  • which tags/broadcasts to skip, ammo to load, when to heat, repositioning maneuver to perform to win contests, or to just clear sites fast & safely (also when FC wants snipers to switch off close BSs of a new heavy wave depending on randomised spawn weight).
  • Also to hold fire on a tag before it's re-marked X to wait for someone to reconnect or get into a site to pocket an otherwise-wasted maximum payout.

  • to know when you're moving up from being on wait list, and to know if the FC wants you to refit/reship to maintain the overall fleet composition.

There's plenty more time & effort-saving reasons I'm sure, and that's not even considering if you want to be logi/ore-dropper/hacker/MTAC picker/dropper.

Oh, and your missiles will do 0dps when 60 Machs, Nightmares and Vindis keep alpha-ing things as soon as they're locked. And even if that weren't the case, torps don't do much damage against incursion rats as they aren't exactly slow, not even their BSs.

I'd say try PvP while remembering bigger isn't better, maybe specifically RvB, but you seem to be a recycled alt with negative sec status...

Just the first account I've signed in on and never sign out of. I think you spent a little too much time on that post, simply saying "Quicker comms" probably would have done it.

Honestly, that is that nature of the game. Most people would find EVE dull, boring, and a bit to try hard. But the people who spend more time in EVE than in real life wouldnt want it any other way.

Finding a group of people who feel the same way as you do about the game is probably the best way to go. Otherwise, leaving is a good option.

I find I go through the same ups and downs. I recently just came back from nearly a year of vacation time to come back to mine more roids.

Fly straight and never forget.

The saddest thing for me is seeing a person feel this way about the game.

I utterly love this game (sometimes less than others) so it pains me to see somebody leave.

If you are trying to do incursions try joining one of the communities dedicated to doing them. Try joining "the valhalla project" Chat room, tell them you are new to incursions and somebody should lend you some assistance. They run fleets all the time, almost all day.

How long have you been playin? What else have you tried besides incursions?

It's about 2 1/2 years now.
Been a large scale miner, but that was kinda side to something else I was doing, missions, but they're not all that fun without a buddy, every so often I'll fit something reasonably priced and just go out to low and see what I find. My last trip was fairly typical, 40 plus jumps of rats on gates every 10 or so jumps and then a 50 man fleet that one shotted me. Fairly boring imo. I even head out to space where I'm hated and just blow up the faction police, but they don't drop anything good and it doesn't affect your standings either way.

There's hope, I got into an incursion fleet last night, rokh amongst vindis and machs mind you, quite happy listening on comms, was quite fun.

Give it a rest, he's given you a perfectly good explanation of why you are being ignored. Take it onboard.

Everything good in EVE requires voice communication. If you don;t want to do that, you;re just left with the boring bits, which brings you to your current situation. You can forget about PVP too if you aren't interested in joining voice comms.

Join FW immediately and go out there and start capturing plexes and fighting against war targets. Try solo and small gang. Nothing is more fun than kickin the **** out of some enemy player solo.

It's addicting trust me.

That being said you will also have your fair share of getting stomped. Get over it. The fun is in the fighting and competing against others. Put PvE behind you except as a side thing to support your crack......I mean PvP... addiction.

Looked up...saw this F***ING clown dropping like a rock.  Woke up in Vylade wondering what just happened!!!

The truth is there is no one way to play the game. The advice I can give is make friends all over the place wether they be scammers, griefers, wormholers nullseccers and go and experience different lifestyles. Meet new people

Heck even meeting people that do somthing you kinda find abit boring can be an entertaining experience. Experimenting isn't always a bad thing!

Yeah it's not been too bad tbh, nice cash flow from it anyway. Only been doing the vanguards, which is difficult enough to get into a fleet for, let alone one of the larger sites.

The larger ones should actually be easier, they need alot of pilots to do them so people will be in demand.

Did you check out the chat channel I mentioned?

If you enjoy incursions, and have the skill / isk to upgrade to a faction/t2 fitted pirate battleship.. Consider flying with some of the more "elite" incursion groups. They will give you some more fulfillment. Smile

Mail me ingame if you are ever bored :P.

Yeah I've been doing them in a tech 2 fitted vindi and its usually with a group of macs / other vindis, get the sites done in like 3-4 minutes.

If i am bored with eve i make a pause. Just log in to change skills for some weeks and play other games. Until now i allwayes came back.

And if you only tried mining/Missions and incusions for now, i kinda feel bad for you. That's such a small part of the game .. and it's pure grinding :S
