Zero, I don't do any type of ship combat PvP, at least not in the last 3 years. I used to be part of a really big alliance, and it's all blob on blob warfare in null, and structure grinding. Break out the Dread, go blow up some undefended POSes, rinse repeat. Low sec is also blob on blob, gate camping, and very few fun fights and stupid station games. It's all boring as hell and a long waiting game that often culminates in nothing.

I prefer doing manufacturing, PI, other ventures and selling items while playing the market. My goal? To make and horde as much isk as possible simply for the sake of making isk. Sounds nuts right? Well it is, but it's what I like to do.

I commend your efforts to remove as much currency as possible from circulation, countering the threat of inflation.

I would have to respectfully disagree. A mining operation properly defending itself from hostile elements is also PVP, in my humble opinion.

This character is mainly built for PvP, butI get burnt out on it from time to time. So I have an Indy character for all the other parts of EVE.

I get sick of that and come back to PvP at some point, and the circle of life continues.

This character invents, builds, and shoots people.

I'm ashamed to have trained Mining level 4 but rest assured I do not use it.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

I started playing the game about a month ago. After a few days I just couldn't decide whether to focus on combat or industry. I really like them both. I got a buddy account and made an industry focused character. I play them both around the same amount of time and since they're both the same age I don't really think of one as a main and the other as an alt. I suppose my industry character will eventually fund my combat pvp character but it's not the primary reason I created it.

Four times I have tried to create a pure indy character.... four times I have ended up accidentally training pvp skills as I get distracted with having fun while jobs complete or orders fill. This trading toon became dps focused, my indy toon became logi and ewar trained, my two research toons became recon pvpers.

However try as I might, the one time I tried to create a PURE pvp toon, I ended up training PE 5 and she now manufactures more ships than my original indy toon thanks to her neutral status.

For me creation and destruction are all part of the same wheel of profit, and, If like me you are -10 having the skills to manufacture your own ships / mods / ammo / rigs can make living in hostile places that much more sustainable.

TL;DR
I did in the past, blob warfare can suck it and so can bubbles of all kinds. Advanced building (not mining) and material acquisition/distribution interests me more.

(longer version)
Well lets see, over the years I've cultivated two characters whom can effectively fly every sub capital grade ship there is and be pvp monsters. Capitals, I can only sit in for the sake of having an advanced rigging business set up and ship spinning it so much the non-pod people crews get flung around like on one of those amusement park rides. It also reflects shaking up an ant farm a bit..

With those toons I have dealt with various forms of pvp and honestly it interests me now just about as much as it did then..it just doesn't. Sure, when a wardec hits all of those skills and combat assets can become useful and I'll be one of the first looking for intel and staging ships/ambushes/tarps. Yet of all the things eve has to offer, combat is not something I would ever consider worth logging back on to do every day. Blobs, bubbles of all kinds, and capitals being front line or major elements in fleet composition all have their place in why it doesn't interest me, and their undying place in the game is why that interest will not change. Also gate camp blobbing or wandering between a few key systems is pretty much comparable to ice mining for me, sometimes its actually more obnoxious if the FC ends up being a total #@$#.

I have in the past, and will do some wormhole adventures some time soon once I find the right group of people. But currently I get much more enjoyment from the complexities, achievements and rewards from all areas relating to market/industry compared to listing to team speak, clicking on a name I'm told to click on and hitting F1.

I was part of a wormhole alliance for a while who would do PvP. I decided that anything, even mining, was better than mashing d-scan and looking for cloaked ships for hours on end.

I don't know how people find the time to PVP.

If I log on for 30 minutes in an evening and do indy' 'stuff' I can update my orders, haul to market, start new builds and then log.

If I log on for 30 minutes and want to PVP, by the time people have arranged a gang and worked out who's in charge, where we are going, and what to do, I will have logged about 2 hours ago.

Can you PVP in 30 minutes and if so... how?

Nope, no PvP in this game.

Had some fun duels with corpmates about 3 years ago, engaged in a few fleets to fight in wardecs in my former corp (which took hours to organize and war targets ran like hell) but that was it.
People told me FW is a good way to PvP anytime you want, I haven't tried it out yet.

I do invention and manufacture mostly because I like the complexity and management aspect of the supply chain - and also (as stated above) because it doesn't require much time.

gang pvp? no not really.

solo? of course. plenty of systems where you can go for some pew pew solo.

Grab a cheap frig/cruiser and go roaming. And not all pirates will blob you, a lot of us will honor a one v one. SC rules say that if we dishonor it we have to pay the person we lied to for his ship loss. And people have been kicked for it.

And many others do the same, just make sure you mention in local you want a one v one. DO all honor it? no but many will.

of course, not all pvp in eve is ship to ship... some would argue that industry is just another branch of pvp.

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -

I'm working to learn PVP (primarily solo) on my main (Jakob here) as I skill up. My original plan was to have an industrial alt fund that, but it seems my time is limited enough that I'm having trouble making anywhere near the ISK needed to fund even frigate roams. The fact that I'm limiting myself to one account may be a big part of that.

Trying out all the things to do here in Eve - it's quite a checklist. So I made a blog Jakob's Eve Checklist

I use my indy alt to explore the indy side of EvE (which also keeps isk coming in).... I generally PvP when I play on this main!

My main understands the circle of life of Eve... He builds and creates stuff to make isk to replace the ships he loses... I just destroy things when it is fair to me (meaning I know I can win) sometimes he spanks me and gives me isk... sometimes not.
