Materials needed

OK, so I have industry level 5, now I looked on the market at a BPO at the materials needed for an item. I purchased the correct number according to the BPO and then the BPO. When I came to manufacture said item, I didn't have enough materials. Anyone know why it gives incorrect values?

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Is that an echo I hear?

This is beginning to sound like a serious bug; I'll report it tomorrow if I cba.

Which BPO was this? Or was it happening with multiple BPO's?

I ran into something similar a few months ago. After a while, CCP indicated it was a bug.

Read the descriptions of the Industry skillbooks, your answers are there.

Regardless of the level of your Production Efficiency skill (which is the one that modifies material requirement, OP), the BPO should tell you the exact material requirements (the You vs. Perfect lines). It is apparently not doing that. The only time it should be different is if you're using an installation with a material modifier.

This is actually a very common oversight. Some facilities give a faster build time at the price of increased build costs. Make sure the facilities you are using have 1.0 material modifier.

I believe there is also a bug with the BPO's and BPC's for all the ships that have had extra material added in the teiricide changes.

The added materials are grouped together with the normal materials in the listing on the BPO. This seems to cause them to be affected by the ME levels of the BPC or BPO. But when trying to build the item the materials are then separated into normal and extra materials, and the extra material then do not seem to be affected by the ME level of the BP, even though the BP shows a material requirement as if the extra materials WERE reduced by the ME level.
