For obvious reasons i will candidate myself.

You can vote on me to have an active ´abstain´ within the CSM-8 council.

If you like this option rather than to abstain from voting at all (that exists currently) and throw your vote away (which is useless in my honest opinion) then you should cast your vote on me instead.

This will be an experiment to see how the result will work out and i urge CCP to approve this application in such a way with such a purpose.

This is an anonymous 3rd account of a player that is with Eve since the day Eve started back in 2003 and so i can promise this character will not troll nor sabotage the CSM-8 in case i got elected.
This character will act neutral.

Thank you for your time

Obvious, eh? What?

Anyways, greetings and hunger games. Here's your spork (its sharp!) and a few things to be aware of:

1.) This schtick has already been done before.

2.) None already set the bar for this sort of candidacy by posting an actual platform - one that was thoughtful, demonstrated a clear understanding of the problems with the existing CSM, sought to improve the process and the game, and stated the issues he would advocate for if by chance he ended up elected.

3.) In the absence of failing to demonstrate that you take the CSM seriously enough to not be running merely as a stunt, everyone's pretty much resigned to calling this a stunt. Twisted

4.) One of two possibilities exists here - either this is a cheap attempt at siphoning off votes from a truly abstaining voter in hopes that you actually get elected (as suggested by your bolding of the word "within the CSM-8 council"), in which case you should have at least shown players the respect of demonstrating that you're not a terrible person and that no one should be worried about you winning in some freak scenario. "This character will act neutral." is pretty lazy.

OR

You are true to your word and this "candidacy" is only for research purposes. If this is indeed the case and CCP decides to implement an "I abstain" (or anything similar) into their balloting system, would you be willing to withdraw your candidacy at that point and time?Lol

Thanks in advance for responding, and fly dangerous. o7

Hans, the "person" isn't just copy-cat'ing none of the above, but actually also itself.

The "person" would, from reading its own original thread, know that abstaining votes are counted and that this "person" is a worse joke than other joke candidates.
I don't think I could describe a worse way to either scam someone or troll.

A "send me x amounts of votes and I will double it"-candidate would have more legitimacy than this particular one.

Thing is...

Many of the folks I know in Eve that care not for CSM see the CSM as distant and beyond the everyday routine they go through in Eve. To them, it is all meglomaniac null sec czars, powerful guys in wormholes, and authors of obscure blogs they do not care to read.

Worse, they see them as pushing agendas that may be very one sided to whatever playstyle they represent at the expense of others while parroting merely what CCP wants them to say as a relations gimmick. Even if this may not be the case.

They do not read forums. They do not read blogs.

That person is not going to "waste" the time voting.

Even for a troll "abstain" candidate.
