before i begin: you are correct this is an alt situated no where near my targets location P

so the situation is this:

tengu will be afk without active hardners running
tengu will be situated in 0.9 to 0.6 space
tengu can be ship scanned prior to attack

can this tengu be taken down with one ship, and if so what ship?

if its not possible with one ship, what would it take?

hey thanks for replies, couple of counters from those:

would 1 arty nado do it in 0.9 space?

a megathron sounds great, would the tengus big kinetic bonus not stop this working?

With the arty nado, regardless of where you are it's highly likely you're only going to get one shot. So pending the fit of that tengu I'm going with yes

Without hardeners running, an arty nado will pop it in a single volley. Make sure your ship is perfectly stationary first and within optimal range to leave nothing to chance however!

AC Nado. Arty is ok if the target is full active/no buffer. If the Tengu pilot is AFK, you can probably do it with 3 or 4 destroyers.

If you're in a 0.6 Space you might be lucky to get 2 volleys off.

Just remember to overload before shooting. I also find that having 1 Medium Projectile Burst Aerator works ok too.

I traditionally do this with two Arty Tornadoes.

I prefer the safety of 2 Nados as well, if he's afk shoot with one. If he dies good, if he doesn't shoot with the other

This. It's cheap enough. Hell, use three if you want to be extra sure, especially if your target's been pre scanned and is packing lots of shiny loveliness.

Two, however, should suffice.

If he's really afk grab a dps-fitted noobship and do it with style. (If you are at war; if not, nado) Big smile

Overheating on Artyllery only reduced shooting cycle, not increasing DMG output. Pretty useless in hisec as you will be jammed by Concord in much less time not allowing you to shoot another volley anyways.
