PS: Trying to circumvent the swear filter is actually against the rules, so there's that.

It's funny too, because there's no filter for that word.

A number of fun words aren't filtered.

Tipia...

I won't say it's not your fault for not understanding or comprehending because in the end it is. I guess there is a difference between not comprehending vs. not wanting to accept the definition of exploit.

Exploit per definition never uses the term bug or ban. Those are words you yourself have associated with that definition. People exploit the bump mechanic that is not a bug and is not a bannable offence but it is exploited to accomplish a desired end result.

Like I said previously. You will argue till your blue in the face regardless how wrong you may be, just remember your lack of comprehension or continued denial won't change it. It is what it is.....EXPLOIT

OK, everybody calm down, this is a spaceship game, not a lawyers in space game.

*reads the thread*

Perhaps I was hasty. It does appear to be a Lawyers in Space game.

Keep it civil. Keep it calm.

Maybe no more exploit talk. It makes me itchy.

Read your own post? Exploit of a bug…key word bug things don’t have to be a bug to be exploited. I really like it when people don’t read threads but still feel the need to comment on them. Is bumping a bug? Had you bothered to read the previous post I asked that as well. No bumping is not a bug. Is it being exploited? Yes it is. (just a single example)

Again CCP determines what is bannable and what isn’t not the definition alone of the word exploit.

It’s not my place to teach or inspire reading comprehension. That boat has already sailed and you missed it.

As a more neutral side effect that is still worth noting: the Combat and Attack Battlecruisers, as well as the Blockade Runners and Deep Space Transports, will now be in separate groups. This means anyone with custom overviews will need to add the new Attack Battlecruiser group and the new Blockade Runner group to their list of groups that show up on the overview. The default overviews will be adjusted automatically.

Your quoting from the forums? This is not notifying all Eve players. It is notifying players on the forums - there is a HUGE difference as not all players go to the forums my friend. Try again.

You need ccp to tell you that you haven't added something to your overview?

While it would be obvious for them to underline it in the patch notes for the slow witted that new ship classes = new overview boxes to tick its very far from an exploit. Most people actually playing eve these days are bitter vets anyway who have been adding new stuff onto (or removing from in the case of defaults, goddam pocos) after patch for years, even if they didn't just use logic.

*edited for clarification

I speak specifically of the patch notes linked from the Eve launcher (clarification)

The launcher takes you to the forums which then gives you links to the patch notes (which are not located on the forum)

Yes. IMO CCP should have let us know in the patch notes that 2 new ships were added and check your overview for the benefit of new players especially.

I don't know that most people playing are bitter vets. I do know that there are many new players and they also deserve a place to go read what to do. I also suggest you read the rest of the posts as what you stated above as already been addressed. New players and people who don't know to check their overview yet aren't necessarily slow witted, they just need some more help in understanding the game than the older players (in most cases lol ) but lobbing insults actually makes you look childish intead of having something legit to say. It's obvious some posters here are just trolling the threads so they can post a rude "use logic all you slow witted people" posts so that they can gleefully asnwer back while lobbing insults at the OP. You fail too. Too bad as it looks like you have intelligence and could have posted decently.

I agree that CCP should have made the unintended consequences of this change more visible. Perhaps a splash graphic on the login screen would be helpful.

Happy?

Why?
Because you actually have to search space for one instead of relying on overview?

1) Because Overview Settings control Bracket settings and d-scan settings.
2) Because invulnerable ships are bad.
3) Because that breaks the entire function of the Overview.

Last I played overview didnt change what I had with brackets.
I could still see all ships with my loot filter on.

BRs would not be invulnarable more than now.
You would have to actually look for them.

You already make filters for certain ships and as we have just seen people grew comfortable and complacent.
Making them have to truly be aware of their surroundings is an excellent idea.
Besides local will let you know there are people to watch for.
Or the sudden red circles.

That's because whatever bracket profile (which are simply overview profiles) you have that tab set to included ships. Right click the overview tab and you'll see something like "select bracket profile."

Nope. They would not show up besides a dark shape on a dark background.

And still breaks the entire function of the overview. The Overview shows all visible objects in space, filtered according to your preferences. You're suggesting that we change that to "shows not-all visible objects in space, filtered according to your preference."

Meh. We should be used to CCP posting critical information in the middle of a thread and assuming everyone sees it.

I agree with the OP: this is EXACTLY the sort of thing that should be directly stated in the patch notes. If you don't read the patch notes, that's your problem. Players shouldn't be expected to scroll through 20 pages of a thread looking for a dev or GM post that might affect their gameplay.

They did the same thing with a GM ruling about a year ago. It's a terrible way to get information to players and I'm amazed CCP hasn't learned that yet.

This is actually funny (now that I've read it.)

Once again people will try hard to justify taking advantage of exploits. I don’t know if it’s to make themselves feel better or if their worried they may get banned if deemed a banable exploit. I am sure it’s not to maintain the high moral standards or sense of honor and integrity that most players fail to bring to eve.

Here it is in a nutshell. All those people rushing to fly in fleets of combat battle cruisers who never flew them before are exploiting the system. just because there is no bug doesnt mean the situation isn't being exploited.

If this was working as intended then why did they fix it?

Even my 8 year old knows right from wrong and has free will to choose and she knows she will be held accountable for those choices just as the rest of us as a gaming community will be held accountable in the end for the game we create.
What exploit and when was it fixed?

Dont you just have to click on the DM or Dev flag to go right to their post? I didnt see one in this thread though, is there something that I missed?

All right; I sped read the thread, so if I fleet up with some battle cruisers while in a blockade runner named ASS then only half of the enemy fleet will see me on their overviews, unless they are in the same corp as a guy named 2inthestink, then only the other half will see me.

Is that it?

Doesnt actually seem like an exploit to me but I will surely f12 the next time i don't get targeted. Good find OP!
