Hello spacebros,

has anyone had any success with doing the pirate epic arcs using the rebalanced T1 frigates? If not, what AF's are recommended (fittings appreciated)?

Thank you

Did the guristas epic arc in a Retribution, was fairly easy.

Anyone else? I'm particulary interested in T1 frigates; I fly mostly Caldari and missiles.

Why not try running them in your favorite frog on the test server?

There is some really deep, hidden meaning in there somewhere, I am sure of it.

The Arcs work fine with pretty much any AF i believe. Personally I have done both of them in a Wolf, Jaguar, Enyo and Ishkur going with shield buffer fits for the Minmatar and active armor tank for the Gallente ships. I don't think most T1 frigs will do though since they wont bring up as much tank. Exceptions might be ships like the Incursus and the Merlin possibly. Going T1 I would recommend Destroyers though, they will do the job just fine as well.

I don't think either the Condor or Kestrel are durable enough to pull it off, unfortunately. I could be wrong, but in my experience the missions include a rather good amount of damage that you have to either avoid (which Caldari ships don't do that well) or tank (which the Condor and Kestrel don't do that well). An active tanked Merlin might work with some difficulty, but it's not a missile boat.

So far as AFs, a rocket Hawk would definitely blow the missions away, and qualifies both as Caldari and missiles. Great tank and resists, good damage projection, and a spare high slot so you can even fit a nosferatu (to help with your tank) or cloak (to toggle online/offline for safer travel in conjunction with a MWD).

Just make sure to bring a ton of ammo of the appropriate damage type, and an ECCM module if you are going to be facing jamming NPCs (look it up ahead of time).

Good luck!

Merlin was the only Caldari frig you could put enough tank on for the arcs, but it has lost its missiles, so not useful anymore for PVE imo. I have used the hawk, retribution and vengence. They all work really well, depending on what you shooting. retribution is nice as you instantly switch between short and long range ammo. Guess a worm and hookbill would also work, never tried them though.
