I doubt the mechanic would even be helped if the best mining was in null sec honestly, or even all of it... people would probably just do the same thing just in larger numbers and maybe an escort. Maybe a little more conversation, but really the root of the issue really is in the mechanic. Especially because really, when a miner is in trouble, the best they can hope for is to unleash combat drones, tank, and try to run away. All the interesting stuff that isn't just panic would probably lay with the escort. Likely why a lot of them get pissed off... maybe things like EOH being more well known could help though... assuming of course you can choose who you sit at the table with in case you want to play a corp only table of poker or something.

Do you have a rebel blog yet? All the best rebellions have blogs. Some of them even make more than two blog posts (I lie, only one got past two blog posts). You can get a free blog at http://www.wordpress.com. I suggest that you don't use blogspot, even though lots of EVE bloggers seem to.

I think you take that New Order thing too seriously. If you don't want to pay the 10mil, mine somewhere else and come back when James will be gone... or do something else.

Most people who react strongly about the 10 million tend to do so because they think it is somehow "wrong" to pay for a permit.

Of course, this being EVE which encourages emergent gameplay, such a belief is incorrect. James 315 and the New Order of Highsec lays claim to Highsec as the governing authority for mining. To monitor and properly administrate that claim the New Order of Highsec issues mining permits.

The mining permits are a bureaucratic necessity to enforce the governance of the New Order of Highsec and its democratically elected leader James 315.

As such, to leave the domain of control for the New Order of Highsec one has to leave Highsec.

But, it is better to to support EVE's vision of emergent gameplay and purchase a mining permit for only 10 million ISK for an entire year. Then, of course, one also has to follow the Code.

The amount of 10 million is exceptionally fair and reasonable. That's a mere 27,397 ISK per day to mine and to support the awesomness that is EVE Online.

The fact that the biggest thing during Summer you have to look forward to is griefing miners in EVE Online is...

...pretty ****ing sad dude.

I'm sorry.

I'm going to to Hawaii and on a cruise; I could give a good goddamn about AFK miners this Summer TBH.

They allow bumpkins from Georgia in Hawaii? I thought we kept them contained on the mainland.

I do hope this movement isn't outlived by its forum thread, like the last one.

Solstice Project is correct - the fact that you are posting with an anonymous alt means that you are a coward, and therefore your movement is already doomed from the get-go. How can a movement with no face and no name, because its founder is too afraid of retaliation to give it one, ever hope to stand up to a personality like James315? Everybody who has been playing EVE for more than a week knows who he is. He has tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of fans and supporters. If you want to stand up against that, step one is to give your movement a name and a leader.

Same. I really hope this particular movement becomes more than an idea someone wrote about.

Wow, got a sh*t ton of New Order's trolling this thread. I think the OP has got them all worried now.

I wonder, has the New Order ever tried to extort ISK from mission runners in Halaima and if so, how did that turn out?

Lol

Inquiring minds want to know.

DMC

I'm very worried.

Yeah, we can see that. If you weren't, you guys wouldn't be trolling this thread.

Obviously you guys won't try your extortion racket with mission runners and explorers since most of them have combat skills and equipment to back them up, not like the gank targets CCP is passing off as Industrial ships.

Dont know if they have tried but you could see it being the next action when the miners have decided it's not worth the effort.

Actually I'd like to see them try, would make some very amusing reading material in the forums here. A couple years ago someone posted a 'Warning' thread in Missions & Complexes about a contest to gank mission runners. The replies were comical to say the least.

Just exactly what is the amount of territory supposedly being patrolled by this 'New Order'? Doesn't seem to be very large since the forums is the only place where I see them.

Perhaps we don't want to spend all our time probing mission ships. Granted, that was definitely amusing for awhile, especially when they lose their CNRs to drake and hurricane. If you seriously think that PvE ships deter anyone because of 'combat skills', then I just don't know what to say to you.
