Golem utility slots?

Hi

Next month I plan to buy a Golem, and resume running level 4 missions, but I'm a bit stuck on the 3 utility HIGH slots it has. 1 Salvager II and 2 Tractors, or 2 Salvager IIs and 1 Tractor? (I don't think the introduction of T2 Small Tractor Beams will make a difference; 48 km range vs 40 km range...)

Or one of each, plus a drone control range module?

Assuming your goal is to loot and salvage along the way while running the mission, use 1 tractor plus two salvagers. I start with the reverse, and found the one salvager didn't cut it, because I had missile range rigs on the boat (torps). I switched to the single tractor, and have found that the two salvager IIs on the same target tend to clean up quickly so nothing piles up. Usually I have enough small ships left to kill to be able to salvage all the battleships before leaving.

I am planning on switching to a Vargur in about a month, though, as soon as I finish Minmatar Battleship V. The constant juggling of tractor, salvagers, and 3 painters combined with needing to switch from Navy torpedoes to Javelin once a ship crept out to 40km range has soured me on it. The damage output is sweet though.

PVP is a question with no single right answer, but a lot of wrong ones.

If you're using a salvager 2, use 2 tractors. Same logic as the 6 tractor/2 salvager Noctis fit.

Only two replies, and they conrtradict each other (one saying 2/1 and the other saying 1/2), so I'd really appreciate some additional input on this issue. Lots of people use Golems to fly missions, and I imagine some or all other Marauders also have 3 utility HIGH slots so face a similar dilemma. Yet only two have replied.

As for my Noctis, I've run with two Noctii, one flown by me with all Tractors, ad one flown by my alt who is a salvaging expert (Salvaging 5) and fitted with all T2 Salvagers, but back when I had Salvaging 4 and used a solo destroyer for salvaging, I'd run 5 tractors and 3 salvagers, because that seemed to me to be the optimal combination.

Still, what do the thousands of other Golem mission runners out there do?

No, they don't contradict each other.

One says 2 * Salvager I, 1 * Tractor

The other says, if you're going to use a Salvager II, then 1 * Salvager II, 2 * Tractor

Not a big deal really. And it isn't going to take long to test both ideas for yourself.

Edition: Drone control modules suck, unless yer using sentries.

I've now flown a few level 4 missions with my new Golem, and what seems to work best for me is 2 Tractors and 1 Salvager II. I use one tractor to reel a wreck in, while flying the mission (thus moving about) then once it's within salvager range I start my salvager on it and keep the tractor on it to make sure it stas in range as my ship moves, and I grab a new wreck with my other tractor beam to reel in.
