Does anyone really play Eve with just 1 character and no alts.

When I was living in null sec I only played one character, since keeping two characters going was too taxing on my attention.

As of Retribution, I generally only run one character since my old machines have delusions of being jet planes thanks to the graphics updates. In order to avoid industrial deafness I will only have one computer running unless I'm planning on AFK mining (since being AFK means I'm also away from the jet planes).

But all my accounts have three characters, each with at least 10M SP. They are mostly idle, I'll switch to one when I want a change. So instead of running missions with my missile spamming tengu mission runner I'll run missions with my missile spamming corax.

its becoming harder and harder to maintain your eve lifestyle with only one account, especially with people moving into nullsec or in general moving into a part of the game where you only PVP.

if you do pvp on the same scale as me, it requires a lot of isk and investments into getting ships and what not. I cant manage all that on one char so i have my highsec toon run incursions that way this char stays where he is at and pvps

As of 2 weeks ago i am only playing with 1 char

Didn't need my other char, as mining/industry was boring me the freck out, so i decided to sell it for some isk for gametime.

I do mainly FW and have fun with that :)

i mostly run missions to fund my FW fun. As i get into t2 ships, though, i realize i will need more money. Time is my issue, so i will prolly just buy plex instead of worrying on a second account.

That being said, i started the game with a second account for the isk i was rewarded, and kept it going for 6 months. I really felt like i got alot out of that char, since i didnt look with longing at other racial skills... i just trained em with the 2nd account.

sadly, my alt got to t2 lasers with a tricked out pvp oracle long before my gallente drone boat isk mission runner ever even worried about isk/hour...

sad times. Fun times. I had lots of fun making a pure dps armageddon with an energy transfer, armor logi tanking Domi and running missions. My boss had 2 alts, and we would sit in the office just alt'ing away... hahaha

EVE is cool that way.

He is down to one account now, but instead of FW, he joined RvB

For years I played with only one account and one character. Four months ago I got my first carrier.

The necessity of a CYNO alt was never more clear, so I now have 2 accounts. One for my main and one for my cyno alt and I have a miner on that accout too, since I only took my cyno toon to 895K SP for clone reasons.

Interesting question (That has probably been asked a few thousand times)

I have this character, my "main" that is primarily for dabbling in Industry with a nice side dish of Exploration for the next few months. But, I have other accounts. One deactivated with a pure trade character. Another on the Power of 2 promotion that is just training in the background with a purpose as of yet undecided. And another deactivated account with my Faction Warfare pilot (And almost as many skill points as this account).

I only ever play one at a time and don't use them to support each other.

Does that count as 1 main or many for the purposes of your question?

I used to run 3 or 4 accounts, using the alts as a way to make isk.

It seems so much simpler to cancel those accounts, and instead buy plex with the same money.... but maybe that's because I don't have nearly as much time for eve as I used to.

I've been playing with one account, one main for the past four years or so. I do have to rely on others for things like lighting cynos during major moves, but that's not really a bad thing, since it creates a reason to work together.

I have about 90 million SP, 2 carriers and no alts. I use friends when i want to move around. it can be a little bit frustrating but it usually works out in the end. I do have one other character on this account, he sits in jita, cheeks prices and buys stuff.

I played for about six months with one character/account then made a second account after watching an old Rooks and Kings video. At the time my main had been in an indy corp and I had received a lot of bad advise from them leading to a real mess of skill-points on my character; the alt was made to test gold ships and to experiment with things on my own terms while I tried to fix the mess my main was in.

I now have six accounts (which is why I view subscriber figures as misleading in how many real life players they are.) Four are different race for testing hulls, the other two get trained up on the things I like or need; I only really want two accounts at most - one ideally. Hypocritically, I think multi accounting is incredibly bad for EVE in the long term, but that's a topic for a different day.

1 account, 2 characters. My other character has under 1mil skillpoints, and is honestly not needed in any way. Yay cheap market trading alt!

I have also led the same corporation for close to 3 years, lived in wormhole space, carebeared in highsec, lived in multiple regions of nullsec (armor and shield based), market traded, hardcore mined, explored, pvp-ed in multiple ranges and races of ships big and small, researched, pirated, etc. etc. etc. all on one simple character.

I understand the almost need for multiple accounts or actually skilled account alts, and I know people that use multiples of both very effectively, but I do have a certain sense of pride I suppose from doing so much with just one character. It can be frustrating, it can be slow, but I know for a fact that you can become fairly self reliable with just one character.

I have 5 accounts and i think 12 useable characters on the accounts.

There is an old bitter-vet in my corp with 1 character at 140mil SP or something. He also only ever flies 1 ship (cloaky proteus)

I have one account, and didn't use my other two slots for anything until a couple months ago.

One character I ground up standings to use for locator agents, the other I have two weeks of training for PI, but haven't done any yet. Until recently I've been using the character to buy stuff from Jita.
