That's because you've been afk for months! You won't see them if you are, y'know.

I'm still very tempted by this idea of bumping miners for the luls, though. Screw extorting them, it just looks fun.

please do, i don't think anyone could object to that without looking foolish.

less keen on mongy forum campaign that by neccesity has to spam forums with ridiculous claims. Roll

Spamming local?

Local in most of these systems was dead silence before the New Order showed up. Maybe once every hour or two someone would ask for an Orca boost, but other than that - nothing. When the New Order comes to a system, local comes alive!

[quote=Verfanny]AFK miners are as bad as botters in my view. They are, basically, bots. They don't interact with anyone. They aren't even playing the game. They sit at belts, mine, ignoring everything around them and, for all intents and purposes, do not exist. They don't even react like NPCs would. AFK mining is a terrible activity and often those who wind up AFK mining quit the game out of boredom. After all, they aren't even playing the game. The New Order of Highsec identifies them as Bot Aspirants since they talk like bots, look like bots, and act like bots.
I don't AFK when I mine, no muilti-boxing neither. but yet "NO!" has hit me 3 times. I talk on local(when friends are in system), or on fleet(New Order doesn't like mining fleet chat), participate in the chat rooms(which New Order also has a problem with) when the system is quiet. Mining isn't the most glamours or exciting job in eve, but I gotta pay for my other activities somehow.

I didn't say I didn't have some curiousity about them and I was talking in terms of mineral costs, not overall... sheesh, some people see one phrase and just run with it, don't they?

They got a charismatic leader/guru and a cult-like following. I find this part interesting as James only started his New Order in July.

If he posted about it on Reddit, 4chan, SA or anything like that, I'd say its less charisma and more the usual result of those sites. Mob mentality doesn't even begin to describe what goes on in those place. Similar to how Brave Newbies burst in out of nowhere. That sort of thing isn't interesting or surprising to me anymore. Never found that sort of community appealing as its generally a pretty selfish and self-serving one. I just can't find myself be convinced that this is actually about helping the game and not the result of boredom elsewhere.

I think James and a couple of his agents are doing it because they want to help the game but I agree with you rhat most are probably in it simply simply because they like to harvest tears or they are bored. I doubt many of these characters are mains.

Looks like the same old copy paste jobs as a trip to Jita and the rest of the hubs. The gave you a pretty short script to work with from what I've seen, the only variation I see(and thats kinda rare) is the "bathroom nazies" roll call.

Have you purchased a permit and pledged allegiance in your bio? 365 days bump free mining for a paltry 10 mil.

You've obviously not been in system when I'm around. Last night, I had an excellent conversation with a rebel regarding growing up lesbian in a deeply Bible belt home. The one before that, was a nice banter back and forth about game mechanics.

I've chatted topics from video games to astrophysics with both rebels and other NO members, in local. If anyone has a simple script, it's the gormless miners who fling out the "OMG U R A Tool U shot me (insert vulgar language)!"

As Mr. moons said, we improve local when we show up. Things turn alive. It's all multiplayer interaction that the 'bears seem so allergic to.

7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided. --Eve New Player Guide

Can we talk about your spamming of GD instead?

Once she admits to herself that James315 owns High Sec, her life as a miner will be much easier.

When you start bumping let me know. I haven't seen a "bump" yet...
