Eve Is Dying because it isn't trying to be a second-rate clone of other avatar-based 'social environment' games graphical chatrooms already available.

No, you're wrong, EVE is attracting all the players it didn't attract the last ten years by doing the same things it has been doing for the last ten years.

So lets hope EvE will last the next ten years.
I wonder how EvE could look like 10 years from now.
Will EvE exist 10 years later the same way it looks now?

EVE will be different in 10 years. Dead or alive, you can bet it's not going to be like now. I'm not confident to see it alive but that's good for me... if EVE is alive I will be pleasantly surprised, and if it's dead I will be pleasantly vindicated. There's no wickest pleasure than saying "I told you so". Twisted

CCP recently gave us a tool to take our characters, not only beyond the Door, but anywhere our imagination can take them.

Although I would rather see the Exploration WiS prototype developed first.

+1 for the thought. I want some WiS development.

59K at one point. Jita was SRO.

Would be fun. They could even make it where the dust players and Eve players are walking around in the same place too...only thing i dont want to see is 4 expansions that is nothing but WIS stuff...I still want to see improvements to gameplay.

That will not happen. CCP said they want to do "theme based expansions". Any feature that fits into the theme is something that could be done. For example an "exploration" theme could contain new systems, new sites, new exploration specialized ships, and the avatar based wreck diving.

A POS type theme could include both new POS mechanics, the ability to walk around in them and corp owned storefronts.

Usually people don't have passionate discussions about things they do not care about.

Interestingly enough the most passionate opponents to an idea, sometimes are not affected by it at all. Just look at current RL debates.

I'm just here to remind CCP that THEY brought up WiS in the first place. I just warmed up to the idea after I saw the nvidia / ccp videos on youtube. I hated when I had to recreate my avatars in 3D, and some of the defining features had vanished (I'm just saying Sebiestor hairstyle, Vherokior facemask ...). But once I had redone myself (Jill), I really liked WiS. After all it is the only customizable aspect to EVE. I would love myself a Hello Kitty themed ship, but that's not very likely to happen. So I go for what I can get in terms of customization: clothing for Jill.

I don't want any of the gamestyle prototyped just before WiS was shelved again. Well, maybe, if it was well done, I would learn to like it too. - but for now, I just hope to be able to show myself in a space bar in the next 2-3 years.

Torfi, make it happen. Pleeeaaasee ...

Like this? Hello Kitty! I seem to remember hearing once a LONG time ago there was a hello kitty version of one of the ships created in game as a special edition for somebody, but don't remember what ship or why it was done.

Yes, exactly: the mighty Hello Kitty Kestrel.

There's also one for the boys Hello Kitty Apoc.

These picture used to be a running gag. But I would love to get my fingers on a true Hello Kitty Kestrel.

It's nice to see such a spirited discussion on, as I said at the beginning, what is likely the least popular part of the game. I, for one, hate to see any feature get left behind be it POSes, or FW, or sov mechanics, or whatever. To me completion is better than something aborted. To address some other salient points made in this thread: Hooting and catcalls would be greatly appreciated. I spent some time sculpting these boobies. It would be nice to know they're appreciated. Yes, I am a 40-something male. I love it when noobs try to white-knight me and I have to explain that meeting women in EVE is like trying to pick up chicks in a men's restroom. Yes, there are more efficient ways to do the things I initially mentioned...but sometimes the most efficient way is not the most desirable way. Ask anyone who's sat in a wormhole system waiting for..well, any number of things. Sometimes I want to waste time. That whole furries/yiffing/emote thing...certainly a huge problem. Maybe I could hire a Dust merc to clean that up? Twisted I'd really like to see anything done with this. I really don't care how half-assed it is. Yes, I know this is dead, and that nothing will come of it. But if I can't dream here, where can I dream? I thank you all for your input. Even the Goons :^P

I want the ability to gank in WiS. Make it like WiS is one big podding session waiting to happen. Don't forget to update your clone, switch to no implants, and be prepared for some excitement before opening the door, cuz I wanna see some WiS disco!

As soon as this is implemented I'm inviting OP and everyone in this thread for a Smoke and some Tea in my Captains Quarters while watching nature documentaries on the TV.

I don't agree with your premise that Walking in Stations is the "least popular" part of the game. Walking in Stations came out in combination with the NEXUS store which brought real money macro-transactions to a paid subscription business model.

People reacted vehemently against the macro-transaction store. The idea of paying over $30 for a single item was, and still is, outrageous for a game that we already pay a subscription fee to.

The protests were, primarily, over -that- but since Walking in Stations was released at the same time there was a lot of bleed over of the issue.

Walking in Stations is something that many players still want. You can see people talking about it with a wishful desire but because of how Incarna went down with the mass loss of subscriptions it has become almost taboo to say that you like the idea of Walking in Stations.

I -love- the idea of Walking in Stations. I think that it is part of EVE future development and growth as an MMO. I think stations are a natural place for players to be able to get together and have face time. They also become the natural location for Dust Bunnies and EVE pilots to interact directly and conduct business.

I want to be able to own a bar in a station that sells player made drinks that provide booster-type benefits. I want to be able to purchase things for my captain's quarters that are made by other players. I want to be able to put up trophies of important events (to me) in my captain's quarters and invite others over to hang out with.

I want to sit at a public view screen that is piping in a transmission of a massive battle in faction warfare, or 0.0, or in a wormhole, maybe a tournament or even a DUST 514 match. I want the drones that are sending that information across be made by players. I want the hacking skill to determine how far the drones can transmit and if someone who has a high level of hacking finds the drone then they can change what the drone is transmitting.

I want to see the players be the foundation of Walking in Stations and not the NEXUS store. Aurum was and is a bad idea for EVE unless they went free to play which is a bad idea as well in my view.

Different people want different gameplay in WIS.
I am skeptic if WIS will ever come out,but when it does it will sure have its gameplay and the so called simple corprooms.
But for now CCP is afraid to take on the challenge to put more people in 1 room
