Ugly Ships that need a makeover.

Oh my goddess, so long wishing to get some ship looking like the fighter and fighter bomber caldari and now THEY DO this... i'm just sooo going back to flying that beauty.

P.S: Trivia question wich ship did get a STEALTH REMODEL with trinity graphics to be symetric?

It would be nice (in a role-playing sense) that any ships CCP redesigns is released as a version 2.0 while those that own the original 1.0 would have a "collector's item". Both ship versions would retain the same statistics. As for the blueprints, perhaps have it change to the 2.0 version with some quick story that rodents ate part of the print or someone spilled a drink and smeared the ink or an electronic glitch rearranged the data...

Just a thought.

I hope its the Moa, there are a buttload of hulls based on it and it's a horrible ship. The more moas that are flying around because they look awesome the better because that means easy kills.

Cerebus is the same hull as the Caracal.

Besides the ships sharing the same hull are perfectly fine doing so - they're just pimped T2 versions of existing ships - kinda like a normal Mercedes and an AMG Mercedes.
Having them use different hulls would'nt make any sense.

Concerning ugly ships in general, I'd call out the Moros, Tempest, Dominix, Apoc and Prophecy hulls.

And trust me I know ugly.




Having that said, I think the ugly ships should stay as they are.

The Drake is one of the worst looking ships in the game. Besides being more overplayed than the latest Black Eyed Peas single, its appearance is more akin to a white soggy cardboard box.

It would be much harder to hate the Drake if it wasn't so damn ugly. I can't wait to start watching them get alpha'd left and right once the new BC's are released!

Already heard it somewhere before, it's the Condor.

Idk why you'd remake the Condor, since it's one of the very few Caldari ships that don't look like a bunch of steel clumped together. But ok.

Moa - WTF is that, a chicken? Bread that SOB and fry it cause it's ugly.

Domi - Tub of lard. Make the thing look like a little carrier or something, landing bays, scoop and poops for the drones. Should look like a 1962 sting ray, not a bowl of lard.

Raven - Looks more like a pregnant turkey that had a close call with Elmer Fudd.

Tempest - Ya know which ship has the best combat profile in Eve? A freaking Covetor! Compare that to the Tempest and it's easy to see what it's kinda silly.

Pretty much Every Gal frig, look like buggers. and a couple of the cruisers are just goofy.

These are combat ships, they should look like ships of war, not art projects.

What the hell is wrong with people, the tempest is one of the best looking ships in eve

No. Screw you. Symmetry is awesome. And asymmetry works as long as it's not an afterthought. *cough coercer and cormorant cough* Horizontal symmetry is key, vertical symmetry is useless. i.e. The tempest is reasonable, the model could use some updating, but the general shape is just fine. The noctis is a good example of where horizontal asymmetry was done well and it works, but generally horizontal symmetry by plain rules of human psychology, looks sexier.

However, things like the Raven model could use some updating, it does look like a big plastic toy. The scorpion was a pretty damn good update on the original idea imo.

Did you know that it's actually more efficient from a design and physic perspective to go with symmetrical objects? Rhetorical question, but it's true. It's easier to do a mirror image than a completely different side. And plus, if you're gonna RP this ****, Caldari are cold, calculating, and efficient. This doesn't imply so busy that they just bolt random ass **** onto a superstructure and go "yay it's done," that would be minmatar. They would look for the most efficient and planned way to build a ship; which is by doing mirror images, thus symmetry in a lot of cases.

Furthermore, the amarr ships are not all symmetrical, the coercer is an example, along with the omen, and aeon.

Personally, I think the phoon is like a giant dog turd with the radio it swallowed last week sticking out; thus it kind of needs a little work. The maelstrom is the sexiest minnie battleship, don't screw with it.
