does not prevent anyone from getting agro on you in low sec (talking abut gcc)
doesnt prevent alliance/corp members of the pilots involved to get into fight
doesnt prevent outside of corp etc repairs.

what my question is : is ccp on crack these days?whats the point of that **** if it it doesnt work as intented?duel in my opinion is something involving honour.honour does not reflet 30 people on a frigate when a frigate pilot invites to duel another frigate pilot.

There wouldn't be any honour involved, if it was forced by game mechanic. The option to act dishonourably has to be a possibility for honourable behavior to have any meaning.

The game mechanic (dueling) is a forced game mechanic no matter how you spin it.

I think the point the OP is making is that it will never be commonly used as it is because it opens up too many cans of worms.

It's a replacement for having to steal from cans in order to get the right to duel another person without CONCORD intervention. It was never meant to be something you seem to think it was. It's just a convenient way to let CONCORD stay out of a fight without inviting everyone in EVE to participate in the fight at the same time.

In the end, the dueling system wil not be used to settle account as everyone will block the Invite to Duel.
It will open the door for organized matchs with bets and, of course, the usual thugs behind to fix a match.

Wait and see what third parties can do and how we can either be blown in the Arena or win ISK on betting on our challenger. In fact, it has already begun.

working as intended. CCP sandbox comes with the chances someone trowing sand in your face.

Fact is: in CCP implementation duel involve 1 pilot challenging another pilot to fight without CONCORD intervention. It has nothing to do with honor and all to do with telling CONCORD "stay out of this".

-CCP would boost ECM so it also block the ability of buthurt posting.

My only problem is they shouldn't call it a "duel," because it's not. Instead, rename it "prepare to be assraped" button.Lol

The number of Jita freighter duel requests have been on the decline, as it takes time for everyone to block it in options. Instead, duel spamming are exploding off rookie systems, and this probably won't decline the same way as Jita.Roll

For ten years, there was no dueling mechanic in EVE. People made their own dueling mechanic by looting from cans.

Crimewatch 2.0 happened. Looting from cans now made you a legit target to everyone, not just the owner of the can. A time-honored facet of highsec PvP was destroyed.

Responding to the fact that this made people rather.. upset, CCP worked to design and introduce a dueling mechanic. Its only purpose is to replace the improvised can-looting duel system that was "removed" when Crimewatch 2.0 came.

Actually no,a limited engagement timer does not prevent anyone from shooting you.
