I think CCP did a great job capturing the shiny, bright and colorful nature of the universe, where every system is lit up like a shopping mall before christmas.

Now, I know many players would NOT be happy with a realistic, dark, black/grey/white (stars aside) universe. But at least give people like me an option to maybe make it a bit darker, so we don't need shades when we turn our cameras towards somehow radiant dust nebulas on the skybox.

Leave highsec. Nullsec is quite pretty and realistic.

Dark star fields, a galactic disk, and the occasional small nebula.

Does OP understand that it's only dark because of our atmosphere...? There isn't some kind of galatic lightswitch, suns don't just instantly turn off (takes about a day, and you'll see it when it happens). The universe is a bright place.

If you don't like EVE's brightness, save up for a computer that doesn't run on potatoes and turn on the "sun occluded by objects" in graphics.

Umm, no.

While the night sky is far from dark, you won't see nebulas with your naked eye. It is an inky blackness with trillions of points of light.

True, but you also overlook the point that in EvE we aren't looking at the space surrounding us by anything as limited as the human eye.

Our camera drones and sensors are move advanced than anything available on the Hubble, so we see space in all of it's actual glory.

There is not that much dust in space. The regions where nebulae form are also where stars form (as a direct result of all the matter, in fact), and are characterized by massive amounts of radiation from said young stars (and the dying ones releasing the dust). They are completely uninhabitable.

It's actually pretty dark in nullsec.

Realistic or not, I do wish there were a way to tone it down. I often have my camera turned away and rely on my overview since some parts of space are just too bright.

This right here proves that DEVs are the biggest trolls of them all.

I too think that it's unrealistic how, in space, the sun doesn't go down at night.

I can't sleep unless I have a billion isk worth of ratting ship in a null sec anomaly with neutrals/reds reported nearby, then for some reason I can sleep like a baby until iIwake up to find myself podded back to some station in a region I don't even live in anymore....

Not like that ever happened to me, just sayin.

I don't really see what the problem is. The night sky above where I live is pretty bright:

I have dreams about EVE all the time...

...like flying into a gate with a thousand war targets lighting up the sky.

Also a dream told me to fly my pilgrim.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?
