Does anyone really play Eve with just 1 character and no alts.

Yes. One account, 3 characters. One for carebearing, one for pvp, one for forum contributing.

Not a fan of sardonic hyperbole are we?

-1 for you, +1 for the AoE fan.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

My situation is exactly the opposite to multiple alts for playing: I have multiple characters and I don't play EVE.

I only have 1 account, no alt accounts. And all the SP goes to this character.

And yes, the game's mechanics are obviously designed to really push people towards alt accounts (more money). It can be argued that the original design idea was to play along with other people, but EVE's tiny population spread all over an unnecessarily large (but empty) game space, makes it difficult at times, so an alt account is just readily available and oftentimes more reliable.

Why just 1 account? Just on general principle. I've never paid for more than one sub concurrently. Never have, never will. Especially not when it's for the same bloody game. Sorry, I refuse to pay more for flawed design.

I do.

I went to two accounts for cap ships, but got bored of null play, so I'm back down to one account, one character.

I have no alts or other accounts. Most people tend not to believe me.

Sometimes it's a little difficult. Especially being on the verge of criminal status (I've got to try and keep about -4.5 so I can access my .5 trade system). But I don't mind.

I play without alts, one account and one character exclusively. As I read in another topic, what kind of peasant lights his own cyno's? I see no reason why I would want to cheapen mechanics that were clearly intended for co-operative play. I enjoy interaction with other people and creative problem solving. I consider alts to be an alternative to ingame friends.

One account here. I use this alt to check prices in Jita. My main has 90+ million SP. Haven't bothered to use the third, although eventually, he will do simple pvp.

To each his own (so I'm not ripping on folks with multiple accounts). I figure that if I need more than one account to play a game on the internet, I should instead concentrate on my real life.

I have 1 account, although I will increase this to two when I start playing again. When I had it subscribed, I used my second account for scouting mostly.

I do. And I just restarted. Eve is fun again when you get rid of everything, including old characters.

CEO of my corp does - he lives in WHs, mostly. Of course, he's got some heavy experience behind him, so it's not that big a deal for him. It does limit is his flexibility, though - he delegates a lot. Sooner or later, that will come back to haunt us.

Confirmed single account carebear, no alt accounts. My main for missioning, my second slot for a miner/industrialist. Hoping to skill that up into a hauler one day, because moving my entire fleet to a new hub is a nightmare. If I can ever stop skilling my main Lol

I do, and I'm in one of the biggest Wormhole alliances in the game. I don't have the time to maintain or use a second character, one is fine enough for me.

I started a character back in 2006 and after a month was told that he had the wrong attributes for pvp so I should start a new one. He became my main and my original character became an alt who I occasionally pumped more SP into.

I use my alt for running PI and hauling but since I only have one account, that's about the extent of his usefulness. The next time I get a chance I shall train him for Cov Ops frigs and scanning since that will be bloody handy next time my main is logged out in k space overnight and I need to find my way back to my W system.

I have a cyno alt to help with corp logistics. That's about it.
Maybe when I get spacerich I'll buy a super alt. Maybe.

No alts here, been playing for a while now, I live in a wh, been in ls, hs, ns,fine, even without scouts you can survive if you know how to fly properly and not derp on idiotic ways.

probably if I ever decide to fly capitals, I will get a cyno alt, but its unlikely, probably will ask a corp mate to cyno for me, after all... playing with yourself on a MMO sounds sorta idiotic to me.
