Fellow capsuleers!

I'd like to draw your attention to a first episode of a podcast I recorded.
It is meant as a video guide for new players, but everyone is welcome to check it out!

If this sounds interesting, head over to http://dawningeve.blogspot.com/.
There you will find some more words to explain the project.

Thank you for your attention!

Could be a good idea, as it might be easier to explain stuff in picture.
But please, do use a manuscript =)

Hello Dawning Eve,

That is a good video guide you have made there. I especially like your attitude of "Don't be afraid of anything, just go ahead" ! Thank you very much.

Already looking ahead to the next episode!

Somehow this also applies to what I did with the podcast: just go ahead!
It's the first time ever I've done anything remotely like this, so I just jumped in.
There's some learning to be made along the way, but even if the road is bumpy, it's a road ahead!

Thanks for the comments, does feel good to see that the show doesn't get ignored completely!

Also, I'm soon (within the next couple of days) gonna start production on episode two; I'll keep you posted!
More info on the site!

Cheers!

Nice, I always like to watch decent video guides for EVE Online. Even though I know most of the basics I still watch them just in case, maybe I learn a neat trick or certain playstyle/ view on different aspects of EVE.

I was thinking of launching a join EVE Online campaign when the winter expansion is released among my friends, this tutorial will surely come in handy then!

Keep up the good work!

You mentioned in your blog you're not really sure what direction to go with this tutorial.

The problem that most new players have is that they don't know what is possible in EVE. Most players just answer: "join a corp" or " you can run missions, salvage, do exploration, mine, produce stuff, research, trade or PVP ( in a corp or Faction Warfare)" This is all true, but it's easier said then done because you have to know where to go and how it works. You can find a lot of info in the Evelopedia and wiki's but these aren't always clear on things and often outdated even. Hell, I'm playing EVE on and off for +/- a year and still don't know about half of what I just mentioned...

I don't know how far your EVE knowledge reaches, but I suggest you delve deeper into all / most of these things. Give examples, background information, ... Show us! :)

Things I personally would like to know more about are:

* Faction Warfare
* Missions, Epic Arcs, Cosmos Missions, ...
* Industry and reseach

Hello, and thank you for your input!

When I started the show, I was unsure how far it would go. Or even if anybody was going to watch at all.

Initially I intended to cover only the basic stuff. But, when I did some planning for the show recently, I saw that the beginner themes will be running out rather quickly. At least with what I consider basic, like, the basic interface, character and ships (hint at an upcoming episode ;).

So slowly but steadily I'm advancing. But then again, things I consider basic, might be unsurmountable for someone else. And, as always, my great concern is whether I'm too verbose on things.

But as long as there is interest in the show, I guess I'll let it flow from episode to episode, about what EvE is, and all of it's facets. I'll start out with the subjects I know most about, which in turn will give me time to learn about some chapters I know less about, or only in theory (like faction warfare e.g.).

This also depends on the feedback I get (which sadly isn't a lot until now) to give me an idea on what would interest people most out there. I won't be able to react to every wish immediately, but I for sure will consider every proposal made, and the more requests I get for something, the more this will influence the flow of shows to come. Under the reserve that I know enough about the subject to at least make something consistent and with correct info in it.

So thanks again for your feedback, and every feedback that may follow! Anyone is more than welcome to send constructive feedback.

Your's is duely noted, and I think there might be something in one of the upcoming shows that should peek you interest :)

Damn.

I learned something.

I never realized every category had a similarly named skill in it, nor that it was an important skill Oops

I know the skills backwards and forwards, but I had never made that simple connection.

Going on 3 years and I'm still learning stuff about EVE. Anyone that thinks they know it all is deluding themselves.

Hehe, gotcha ;)

On a more serious side, I was actually pondering whether to cut that segment from the show.
Glad I didn't!
