That kinda won't work, just due to the tactics used. We tend to bring a whole fleet of suicide ships, land directly on top of the target from a handy warp-in, then melt them within 3-4 seconds with antimatter. Might get a secondary depending on DPS brought, then we just hang about, get concorded, and escape our pods.

You're thinking EUNI combat, where people fly around and do the ECM and linger. New Order combat is direct and fast. -5, you either warping, shooting, or podding back home.

The ways to beat new Order have been mentioned already..and I'll add another one. Make friends. We get entirely too many warp-ins/intel from other miners ratting out targets in belts.

Do you really think that someone who wants to mine all day, is going to go through the all trouble of organizing a defense?. It's no secret that eve is not for everyone, and some people just don't want to pvp. In the end there is no way to avoid being forced into a pvp situation, some people don't realize this before they are in the middle of it.

Once you realize there is no way you can avoid pvp, which is one of the consequences of playing a game the support non-consensual PvP, you are left with two options: PvP or quit.

The problem with choosing to PvP, is you can't win, there is no way you can force someone not to fight you. If all you want to do is sit alone in a belt and mine, there is no way it's going to happen... which makes the quit option so much more logical.

Eve is just not designed to be played by all, and it was nothing to do with people being pathetic or lazy.

Except the rules seem to have changed, or at least blurred lately.

Miners sometimes get ganked by the Order (or at least by people claiming to be from the order) when not AFK, sometimes when they've already paid for a 'pass', sometimes when they have 'James 315 for CSM' in their bio, sometimes when they're a new player.

There seemed to be a lot of confusion out there this weekend.

We've covered this before. 10million, 5 billion, 0.01ISK, it doesn't matter. Buying a permit is acknowledging that you are playing a multiplayer game with others, who can impact and influence your activity. 10mil ISK is nothing at all really, we could make more...doing anything.

Thus the hate for the "Bears".

Every time there is a "why u hate high sec" thread i say the same thing. While I think High Sec (which is at best a necessary evil) could use some tweaking, i don't "hate" it, i play there and everywhere else in EVE. I don't even hate people who live exclusively in high sec, play solo, mostly pve (like me) or avoid PVP as usually do. Not participating in pvp doesn't make you a carebear imo.

No, it's the Welfare Queens/Entitlement "I pay 15 bucks so everyhting should be sunshine and light for me" people that I and people like me dislike. The people who run to daddy (ccp) when a bully shows up rather than punch that bully in the nose. Because if Daddy does it they won't have to risk getting hurt.

TL:DR , it ain't high sec we hate, it's YOU Mr Carebear.

Lemme clarify for you, and the rest of the EVE community. A permit doesn't allow you to violate The Code. Part of The Code is being attentive and ATK while mining.

Goofus buys a permit, then cries when he gets ganked while AFK mining

Gallant....doesn't have to do anything. He warped out when he saw a scout cuddling his barge, and the Knights found Goofus.

Yup. This is why we need a new word for those like me who are not exactly Carebears.

Besides, using the available mechanics and strategies to avoid ganking and all that is a legitimate form of gameplay in itself.

Continuing to sit and mine where there is trouble and doing nothing about it is just.......I don't know what to call it. It certainly is not interacting within the game at all.

I know for a fact that multiple accounts have been started because of the New Order of Highsec.

I have no idea how many (if any) accounts have unsubscribed due to the New Order of Highsec.

I'd love to see information about that made available. I have my doubts that the rate of cancellation is significantly higher than the normal rate for EVE players.

As such, it is my biased belief that the New Order of Highsec generates more net accounts for EVE Online since I know of many that were started and subscribed to because of the New Order.

That was my understanding of the issue from discussions in various locals, but seen a couple of whines this weekend implying otherwise activity.
