Skill Bundles

I've seen the idea of selling unallocated SP for isk on the forums before and I know that idea is frowned upon (and rightly so). However, Skill Bundles might be a nice way to maintain the philosophy of EVE but allow people to make isk or skill up more quickly.

So what is this idea?

Imagine you have the ultimate sub-cap pilot but you've never considered flying caps. What if, instead of training for caps, you could jump on the forums or check contracts and buy the skills. You inject them and you instantly have the ability to fly caps.

The catch is that someone else has to have trained those skills.

So you have a Nyx Sitter... that toon may only be valuable to a handful of characters, since all the work needs to be done to turn him into a full cap pilot but to a sub-cap pilot who has everything trained up, the skills are much more valuable. So instead of selling your Nyx sitter, you go into your skill queue, right click on Carrier 5 and click one of two options:

A) "Bundle Skill" -- This bundles just Carrier 5 and places it in you inventory. Meaning that someone would have to have all the prerequisites in place to inject the bundle.

b) "Bundle Skill + Prereqs" -- This bundles all the pre-requisites, stripping the toon of certain skills.

This bundle could then be mentioned on the forums or posted as a contract.

The same could apply if you had were a miner and became a PvPer... maybe those 5M SP in mining are useless to you, but you could use extra ISK. You bundle Exhumers 5 and sell it off.

Someone has invested time into training, so it's not simply adding SP to the game, but it adds an interesting new dynamic for both rapidly skilling new players and making isk on older players.

thats is a P2W suggestion.
No.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

It's not simply adding SP to the game, but it's still adding SP to the characters which is a huge problem. This makes it possible to create a day old max SP characters and buying an SP advantage over poor players they can never overcome. It will increase the SP gulf between old and new players, since it's the old rich players who will benefit more from this. What's worse is you've created a way to directly grind for SP with all the negatives it brings and ruined the passive skill system. This is because you can now buy SP with ISK or make an alt account for the purpose of farming skills for your main.

Propably needless to say, but I think the idea is pretty lousy with almost nothing working for it.

A day old player can just buy an old toon if he's rl rich. In both cases, someone else did the training for him. No difference.

In case of buying character you cannot change his name, or change corp history. If you buy SP/Skills you can swap skills from one character to another on a daily basis escaping consequences of any action(s) by previous character.

There are plenty of ways around this:

1) Skill Quality Level -- Skills Degrade on Export by X%, limiting the number of times that skills can be exported.
2) New Skills
2a) Instant Learning Skill -- A skill required to inject other skills (cannot be exported)
2b) Knowledge Transfer Skill -- A skill required to export other skills (cannot be exported)
3) Treat Skill Injections / Exports like Remaps. Give each Character 1 / 12month period.

If you applied these three rules, you would eliminate the issue of characters hopping from toon to toon and transferring their skills.

thats the downside to buying a char to not make it p2w....its why its inplace. Its not p2w per se. You can find a character that has everything you need, but the name is bad or its shoot on site to a crew for a multi-billion dollar corp theft. Which in the case of your overnight cap pilot is not even an issue. They will be in a cap, if on an op and its 10 of you repping the pos you and your 9 brother/sisters are high on the primary list anyway if the enemy shows up. Your death would be not be personal, jsut business. Only personal part would be they'd slide you up to 1st primary and not say 8 in the lineup. Its really acedemic at this point....your cap is slated to die anyway.

Your idea however is p2w. You have your first scenario of the plexer. Instant skills overnight. Or you have people like me who alt it. My alt is done. they exist to be an empire pve backup when the combat char is in 0.0 and can't rat. Currently they jsut train because may as well as they do pve and make isk quite well enough. Or I t train covert cynos in the 2 other slots to go with my ability to fly widows.

Because I can afford 2 account even via CC if needed I can can have the alt learn skills, make bundles and give to the combat char and its now training speed on crack and steroids. Combat char is perc/will atm, have the alt int/mem. And I avoid the downside of mapping the stats FTW.

And the beauty of this setup is this very small scale. I know bitter vets with 4+ accounts. they too are "done". they'd be 100% online cyno chains of midpoints and endpoint for example. 3 chars who are run anyway fulttime infuse the 1 char. WTF Power levelling....this would be it. Hell with a thrid alt under your plan I'd make the leadership skill donor. They'd train leaderships skills ofc. historically a pita since its the most ineffective remap for anything else but this. And yes I could afford this for a few months to not have the main have that otherwsie crappy remap.

Sorry as the others have spoken, this is pay to win and shouldn't (and won't) be allowed in EvE just look up the issue with Jita Burns and the Incarna fiasco.... although I DO want more walking in station stuff... like a dust cleaner or at least an emote to pick up the damn garbage....

_**Noob **_isn't really a status, it's the online equivalent of a 5-year old calling you a poopy fart head.

any Real Life option,
that entices the R.L. value of Inter Stellar Kredits,
will inevitably increase the activity of
issues that follow greed.

Nothing like a sweet shop, full of players geting 1/2'a lunies an hour for playing eve.

what i am getting as is

Helm Evil NO!! Evil

There are so many issues...
Here is another one,
the philisophical value of training would become void.
I dont even want to open up that discusion.
