Fleet Role: Anti-Frig/Drone/Cruiser Navy Caracal

I frequently fly in small fleets that run Caldari Navy L4 missions.

Fleet size and composition can vary, and I have a BS and BC to fill those roles when needed. However, a lot of times we're stacked with those ship types, and taking down the smaller stuff can be a pain. A Tengu would of course be the best option, but I can't fly one yet...so I'm looking to fit a Navy Caracal. Here's what I came up with:

188 DPS (w/ drones)
32k EHP
Cap stable
55k missile range

Since I'm running this thing in L4 missions, it's important to have decent range to pop these things before they get too close, in addition to having a decent enough tank to survive in case they do. Since the Caracal can only field 3 light drones, I figured amping up their damage was a good idea too. What do you think of this?

Regular caracal does the same if not better than the navy one for no where near the cost.

Tank is about the same...regular Caracal has about 30 less DPS due to 1 less launcher and drone.

But yeah, good point. 30 extra dps doesn't really warrant a 40m price difference.

Regular Caracal also has damage type flexibility.

Fleet role/anti-frig

Caracal with HML I can squeeze out 305 dps with 1360 volley, the two drones push it to 340dps.
Navy Caracal with HML, for me, puts out 274 dps w/1632 volley, three drones make it 327dps.
-examples using T2 launchers, T2 BCUs, and faction missles.

. . . but with heavies, the exp rad is about 100, a frigates rad is about 40.

Maybe using rapid light missiles would be better to take out those pesky frigates.

Caracal with RLML would put out 233dps w/ 833 volley, 268 w/drones.
Navy Caracal with RLML has 210dps w/1000 volley, 262 w/drones.

. . . with rapid lights the exp rad is 29, so frigates take full damage.

For the price, especially in this instance, the Caracal is really the best way to go. IMHO. It gets a bonus that the Navy version doesn't, and does it with one less launcher.
