[MEIYI] Press Conference/Incident Report

If you could not get to me first. . . . That's an interesting proposition. I will be flying a Badger from Amarr to Hadozeko. In the cargo hold are three thousand five hundred Minmatar slaves, that I just brought off the SCC market. Upon arrival to Hadozeko, I will turn around and return to the Empire. I leave the choice of their fate entirely in their hands. If you kill them, that is it, there are no more possibilities. If you let them live, of course, they may remain a slave, but you do not know what the future brings.

They no longer have to live in fear of becoming slave. A blow to the slave trade and a victory as well, small in both accounts but none the less it counts.

Recorded local in Seiside, at 1900 hours:
Alizabeth Vea: You would really kill these people? Death is so final. Life has so many interesting possibilities. You know what will happen by killing them
Sara Sirlanka: Ah, it seems I have found you Alizabeth. Yes I would kill them. I will give you a choice of safely jettisoning them for me to collect. Or I can set them free the hard way.
Alizabeth Vea: You know what will happen if you kill them, you do not know what will happen if you let them live.
Sara Sirlanka: They will become slaves if they live. That is not a life worth living at all! Better to die then bend the knee to scum holders!
Alizabeth Vea: *audible sigh* As you wish.
Sara Sirlanka: Slaver scum such as your self should be turned into biomass.

I regret to report that not a single passenger survived. All three thousand five hundred Minmatars were killed. It's a costly lesson that I am trying to teach Miss Sirlanka, but as a capsuleer, it is best that she learns this now. Her capacity for destruction will only grow with time.

My last post included a cipher. The code is simple. Each letter corresponds to a number. A=1; Z=26, the middle fills in exactly as one would expect. The numbers are a combination of two phrases. one is "Most Ancient Matar, my hands remember you." I let whomever wishes to figure out the message.

Miss Sirlanka did not know what was going to happen, and her rash actions caused the death of three and a half thousand people. Had she asked around, she would have found out that I am not a slaver; I oppose slavery. I also have a history of, when I feel like it, bringing freed slaves to the Republic.

Death is final. In life, there is hope.

So... what point were you trying to prove? That you could also lower yourself and pull three thousand five hundred people whom have nothing to do with you and then simply kill them by a press of a button? You say you oppose slavery, but killing does not help that. Sure you say that you bring slaves and free them, but terrible deeds always overshadow the good deeds. Most look first to what bad you've done and later look to the good. 3500 is a large step in the wrong direction. You showed no hope at all for those people. I too would not kill in order to save them, but I would not lower myself and use what I hate to show others how terrible it is. Do not use others for the excuses of your own actions.

You say Miss Sirlanka did not know what was going to happen. Though she stated herself towards your question, that she would have had the ship self destruct unless she gets there first. Now then, if she does get there first, there is also negotiations. Attacking would not help, as you could still self destruct during the fight. You also would not know what would survivie if the ship blew up with assistance from enemy cannons. So that leaves it all to talking. I am not speaking for her, but for a person whom answers first with "self destruct", that is kinda what they favor what would happen more.

Someone quite openly states their intention and consequences of proposed actions. In spite of this, people are shoveled into an industrial and paraded in front of said someone as bait, for a cheap point on a forum.

Who the everloving hell is the monster here, exactly?
And people ask me why I prefer the drugs.

All you've proven is that you are just as disgusting as she is, miss Vea. You do not play with people's lives like that, just because you want to make a point.

You had the chance to state your intentions, instead you decided to try and teach me a lesson and failed horribly at it. As far as I am concerned you are just as bad as slavers, you bought slaves and used them as bait. I do not regret my actions, nor would I change them if I could go back in time knowing what you claimed to be doing.

Just as in life, there is hope in death.

The average capsuleer can kill untold millions over the course of their time in the pod. A lesson needs to be stern enough to be noticed, yet not overwhelmingly so. For this little scenario, it was assumed that I would self destruct, however, it was never stated. Even if I had initiated self destruct, which I did not, I could have canceled it. You cannot help your people by killing them, Miss Sirlanka.

A better move would have simply to keep the industrial ship empty and record the reactions of Ms. Sirlanka in order to demonstrate the point. Instead, those people are dead, and you contradict your own stated values.

I am also a human, straggling between the present world... and our future. I am a regulator, a coordinator, one who is meant to guide the way.

This saddens and sickens me in equal measure.

I do this for many reasons. I do it because I believe it is right. I do it because I will profit by it. These all consolidate into one reason: I do it because I can.

Well, it's good to know you can feel something.

I am willing to kill people to prove a point. As capsuleers, we do it all the time. I do not kill for fun, at least, any more. That being said, I did not kill anyone, the one that pulled the trigger was Miss Srilanka.

You are just as responsible for their deaths as I am. Yes I pulled the trigger, yet you were the one who bought them and used them as bait to try and teach me a lesson.

I'm forced to ask: did you actually verify that there were slaves on the ship, or did you simply start shooting?

At any rate, the Corvidae Club has reopened; our security systems have been renovated to prevent such an incident from occurring again.

Speak for yourself.

And don't try and claim that the blame is solely on miss Sirlanka just because it was she that pulled the trigger. You purchased the slaves solely to take them to the slaughterhouse. You are both equally guilty of butchery.

Actions like this are why slaves shouldn't be up for open purchase on the SCC market. Non-Holders are not responsible enough to have them.

Vea, stop blaming others for your own actions. I said it before, in which you've ignored, and this is the last I'll say it again. You killed them, no one else did. You placed them into your cargohold and you yourself ended their lives without a care for them with a single action. If you had any care, you would have never placed them in danger from yourself in the first place.

You place the blame of your actions upon other capsuleers and use the excuse that they do it all the time. Most capsuleers are usually in a militia of some sort. There are wars going on. Well no frak they kill others... it is usually to protect themselves. But to place people whom are weaker then yourself into your own ship and then self destruct it? That is protecting no one. You are one of many that put a bad name to us pod pilots. I feal bad for the crews who've served under you.

Now then, to rerail this topic. I am sorry for your loss Meiyi. Let us hope that your establishment's security is improved so you can properly take care of your families and workers. Take care of them so no deaths will occur. Of course, if any wish to return to the Republic or live a new life elsewhere, be sure to keep a open mind that will allow you to see the universe how they see it. That way, we can prevent events like this in the future.

In all honesty, no one is responsible enough for them. No one is qualified to make decisions for others. They are their own being and mind and can think for themselves.

Hence why I've simply began ignoring her. I see no reason to give her what she wants.

I don't know your involvement in this matter, Pilot Gallente but, from what I know, the bloody hands belong to Pilots Vea and Sirlanka.
