OK, yeah, I PVE a lot, yeah, I have a Machariel, yeah, most level 4s are cakewalks when you have all 4s and 5s in all relevant skills, we all need beer and ammo money right? But seriously, Sansha Blockade Level 4.... WTF happened?

Even with 'keep at distance' with 800mm T2 ACs at 3000m from a Mach with three tracking enhancers 2s and four Gyros 2s.... how the hell can you still miss over a dozen volleys? I swear incursions are easier to hit than this! After an hour nothing was dying except the trigger ships(battleships), at 3000m, because I literally couldn't hit anything else.

That is it! Enough! I'm going back to LULsec! Where the hell did I leave all those Ruptures I built a while back?

TLDR: I actually am pissed that 'The assault' is literally unplayable in a faction fit (granted, cheap faction fit) Machariel, but maybe this is the point where I say F-it and go back to low-sec. CCP, can you check what is up with NPC tracking disruption ECM, because I think it is F-ed up right now.

*Note, the author of this post 'gets it' in regards to ECCM and such, but he seriously thinks something is broken with tracking disruption in PVE.

You can't counter mass npc td just by closing distance, it's not dampening. The closer you get, the greater the transversal and the harder it is to track. TD kills tracking as well as range. You can't hit far away, and you can't hit close by.

One method that works with ACs (but not megapulse or anything else with worse tracking than ACs) on BS rats (but not cruiser rats or smaller) is burn in next to them, stand still, let the rat crawl away from you, minimize transversal. It doesn't work on cruisers because unless both parties stay still, there's still some transversal no matter what, and with a dozen td, that tiny twitch of a movement is more than you can track. This is what makes Sansha Blockade undoable in turret boats - the td rats are elite cruisers and elite frigs. Regen too high for medium drones, too small for any gun to track under td.

I used to do the sansha blockade in a tach nightmare...

I found that if they cruisers came into a certain range they would tracking disrupt me to hell. most of the time I never had issues if I didn't let them get into that range. don't ask me what that range is as I aint done a single mission in nealy a year.

Do it in a rattlesnake, If your solo in a turret ship your pretty much fuzucked, the rats will almost never target drones though in this mission.

Or bring a friend/2nd Account the TDers switch targets with 2 people.

They've always tded further than your base locking range. The reason td wasn't an issue before is that they killed off only optimal, and tach has quite a bit of falloff.

Sansha blockade ~25 minutes in a dominix with two TCs, full clear.

Yes you lose ability to shoot stuff briefly with guns during the big td spawn, and the battleship TD isn't exactly reliable at showing its icon either.

Sansha missions are currently way too frustrating and time consuming in an AC ship for me due to the heavy TDs, makes all other forms of rat ewar seems like a friendly affectionate hug.

Last time I accepted a sansha blockade, it took a horrendous amount of time, and no amount of playing with range and angular velocity allowed me to get any real hits in against 6+ seemingly endless TDs. Just had to warp out and back in then blap the cruisers before they all got locking and disrupting (many times, for each one).

I'm all behind stepping up mission AI/challenge, but currently, the big sansha missions pretty much require a missile or drone boat if you want to do it with any grace, speed or self respect whatsoever, which seems a bit lame tbh.

I'd go the Rattlesnake way, Sentries will kill everything and missiles will help.

With TPs, Tracking links and DDA II you'll be fine, that in case you can fly it and use sentries of course, even if they are T1, pretty much the most viable drones that can be used succesfuly and without too much stress rigt now.
