High-Security Space is One-Hundred Percent Safe!

High-Security Space is One-Hundred Percent Safe!

This seems to be a false impression given by the "New Player Experience".

CCP is doing our new players a dis-service through the new tutorial, the fact they happen in normal "K-Space" provides a false sense of security. I strongly suggest CCP move the tutorial missions to a protected isolated area of EVE where learning can take place. Ending the tutorial with a "we are now going to toss you into the deep end" kind of statement so players are very well aware that they are no longer warm and safe in their pod goo.

We owe it to our new capsuleers to grant them a bit of honesty, even if we resent their very existence.

I feel ashamed that I actually agree with Tom, regardless of if it's a troll.

Posting in a stealth "I want to grief newbies" thread.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

There's no need for a special pocket of space - just keep the whole tutorial inside the station.

Maybe let the new players undock once (and make sure they get immediately blown up if the do) to reinforce the lesson but it really would be best to deactivate the undock button completely for new players to prevent nasty mishaps from happening.

CCP could let them take a quiz once they hit 5m SP to unlock the undock button.

Maybe EVE could start new players with a negative ISK balance and security rating. And a tutorial agent who is a pathological liar. Just to show that EVE is a cold, harsh place.

So they removed that giant pup up box you get the first time you ever undock telling you that space is dangerous and not safe?

they need to have tutorials on common scams, like the market trading scam, if they are going to allow that bullshit to continue. Don't be fooled when they say its because "EVE is supposed to be harsh", scamming exists because it would cost CCP more money to police it.

What we need are starter systems in 0.0.

Alliances should be able to hold a starter system and to recruit new players right into their corporations. Allow for the noobs to hit the ground running. At least give them the option to choose between the anonymity and the elbowing of an NPC corp in a 1.0 high-sec system, which is pretty much a start in a shithole filled with sissies and trolls, or a start in hell with real friends.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

This could easily be fixed by creating some real useful tutorials....

1) Scamming and you....
2) That's not the corp your looking for...
3) It's a tarp....
4) Trust is a four letter word....
5) Ganking for laughs...

No.

But maybe the final mission of the advanced military storyline should require podding another random newbie Blink.

Remove standings and insurance.

You know, currently without any modifications to the game, there is nothing stoping you in the game from going to a newbie system or putting alts in major NPC corps to recruit from there.

Like offering free ships and in game trianing on how to roam then it would be a great idea.

Of course, if you take those newbs out into null-sec and awox them, then I suppose it would be highly frowned upon.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

You know!? You know if you are bright enough then you do not need a tutorial at all.

You can crap in the woods and stop using toilets, too. There is plenty of options. Just so you know. Roll

Unfortunately, the subtle nature just falls flat - because its Tom Gerard.
