What one thing about Eve would you change if you were CEO for a day?

I would have free beer in the lunchroom for employees.

Eve game change:
Allow capital ships back into hisec

Corpse Launchers for everyone!

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

The CEO manages the company, gives overall direction. He is not the game producer. So I would put in place methods for determining the development direction. In particular, continuous and persistent polls to see what the players want to see developed, along with the cessation of using the forums to determine what the players want. Iteration of old features? New features? More bug fixing? Avatar based play? New solar systems? And so on. Then the policy would be to split the development money in proportion to what the players wanted.

1. The newsletter pushes out the occasional poll. Some kind soul referenced them in EVElopedia; but I haven't looked for an update there.

2. What company that has any form of statistical nonce (And CCP does) would use a forum as a poll of game direction? It sounds too insane to be true so - do you have a reference for where CCP says this?

One thing? Cant...hold...back....must....vent...must....

1) Put slices of losec (DMZ) between each factions space. i.e. you must cross a little 0.1-0.4 space to go from Caldari to Amarr

2) Make 'bounty hunting' a truly viable career with bounty hunting skills that allow aggro against negative sec-status bountied toons in hisec. i.e. having a bounty AND a negative sec status has consequences, not bounties as a bonus to killing someone you were going to blap anyway.

3) Make a jet can owned again by a suspect dropping it, not free-to-take to all. Protect carebears via safety setting against the take-back, not bubble wrapping their use of can's entirely with free take backs. Who is to say all the stuff in my jet can is stolen OR owned by the person taking it back? Can flipping was a viable & compelling career, carebear nerfs like free take-back killed a compelling avenue of EVE gameplay. Not cool.

4) Provide funding for and pursue a dynamic resource allocating infrastructure, so that big fleet fights or other high-player-count activities are not lag filled. Manually hot-dropping re-enforced nodes is such a hack I don't know where to begin re: architectural design, because hey, your not going to get 24 hours notice before a fleet fight..ya know?

5) Kill markers on ship hulls. A look-at on another players ship should show 'x's or kill markers for all the ships he has killed in that hull, starting at increments of 1, then 5, 10, 20 etc. Reset it when he loses that hull.

6) Corpse launchers (like the festival launcher, but with bodies). Enough said.

7) Allow sec status to be bought with ISK, not cheaply mind you, but doable

8) Allow players to join CONCORD

The OP said "one" change, not 20 like some people posted...

But in any case 99 out of 100 ideas are simply nothing short of stupid...(not including any changes allowing beer and or nudity)...

Every single person in highsec loses everything they own and have to start all over again.

Sisters of EVE Pilgrim Memorial at the EVE gate that people can sign once a year and a mission attached to it, talking about how the tradition started..

...what? Don't want to distract them too much from other things, they already have a lot of work ahead of them :p

Seriously though, probably custom keybinds... like if I want to launch a drone group, I should be able to have a button linked to that group.

No, it's not that. I live in highsec, so I would lose everything too. Some people just want to see the world burn.

If it makes you feel any better, I could choose to delete everything that everyone owns in the game, only allowing people to keep the corporations and alliances they're in but all sov is dropped, all assets and cash are destroyed, everything is gone.

I'd create a team whos entire purpose is to improve the NPE and to get more players (aka customers) into the game and stay in the game. I'd then start going on an advertising rampage anywhere and everywhere I can.

More customers = More money.
More money = More projects that can be completed in a timely manner.
More projects being worked on = The game improves for everyone, bitter vets and newbies alike.

By getting more customers to subscribe and stick around, CCP receives more income which can be used to fuel EvE and other projects. The NPE and retention *should* be very high on the list of priorities.

A perfect example would be the modular POS system. CCP has already stated they would love to do it, but it would require a significant amount of dedicated resources to complete it. Resources that are busy with other things. They don't want to create an expansion where the only thing that comes is this new POS thing.

More customers means more money. Money that could be used to create a dedicated development team for such a project.

This was probably the policy until CCP Dolan got hired. Then they had to change it or risk going bankrupt.

Disband all alliances and corps, and temporarily rename all characters to something resembling an API vCode, which regenerates at DT each day Twisted
