Because as Night Beagle pointed out not all of the WH community visits the forums.

And what makes you think they'd all visit NB's voting gimmick thing?

Which is a sign of an uniformed voter. There are no barriers to accessing the PUBLIC, CCP run official game forums. You get access to all the information therein with an active account. "Not all people visit the forums" is about as much of an excuse for being uninformed about game issues as "I didn't know the speed limit, officer" when you get pulled over right next to a traffic sign.

As well, from a political science perspective, direct democracy is laughably the single worst idea you could imagine for dealing with an electorate/voting body of more than a handful of people. Yes, its ~legitimate~ and the illusory "will of the people," but its far more susceptible to manipulation and the promotion of an uninformed, un-engaged electorate. If the WH community wants to do something internally for that via polling and crowd sourcing, fine. Expecting that its a good idea for the CSM and a good platform to run on? Not so much.

@Singular Snowflake> NDA is just a mean to protect economic interests of CCP. However it is not meant to be an obstacle in getting community input and following it does not exclude general consultations. Also the minimal issues that might be limited by the NDA can receive input from the community if enough participants are already in the system and proposing changes.

Outside of basing your platform on something that will never actually work, what can you actually bring to the CSM? What do you as a player stand for? It's all good & well to say that you will support the playerbase as a whole but we all know it doesn't work like that. You have a political agenda as does every other candidate & if you want to stand a chance against them, people will need to know this agenda so they can vote accordingly.

@Kainotomiu Ronuken > CCP needs to have two things input form the community and the public image that they are comunicating with the player base. My platform offers both. And players interested in this will participate. The others may choose to vote for somebody to do the thinking on their behalf. There is no shame in that, only a different path.

@Lykouleon > One can blame the uninformed voter only after the information was clearly brought to their attention. Looking at the number of messages om the forum compared to the number of players and the activity on the ingame channels and alliances external forums I can safely state that the forums are only reaching a small part of the community. If direct democracy is or not a good political systems is surpassing the current framework. I am not here to make or discuss politics and even if I disagree with your opinions, I will limit myself to the fact that my platform responds to a need.

@Mallak Azaria The best way find if it is working or not is by running in the elections. I will not pretend to have other objectives, even if I do have opinions on the current ingame subjects. Some of them will be presented in the podcasts featuring me in the next period.

So essentially, you stand for nothing?

I think my first post is explanatory for what I stand for. If that does not satisfies everyone, it should not be a problem as in a community different opinions lead to growth and progress and this is what we all want.
I am offering a true way of community input instead of running with a platform that would be unachievable with the current CSM mechanisms. If one prefers a candidate that promises to support a specific change, then the same one should realize that it is not the CSM that decides but the CCP. Therefore, no matter what one dreams, having someone to talk on their behalf is preferable to somebody who tries to push for the ideas that advantages one group or another.

My "campaign" culminates today with some video thanks to Hard Knoks.

What can I say, I made more enemy in two weeks than in 3 years. It feels good :) And I had the most commented topic of all WH candidates :) Conflict seems to be a great driver.

I feel in a EVE mood. The sandbox. And I didn't even stole or spied. Just played the game.

Yes, Cipreh has potential to beat me soon...but not now.

However it will be unfortunate if him, Nathan or Ayeson will ever be in the CSM.
