Preparing for the worst

The news of the Starkmanir colony of Vard VII being attacked by mercanary ground forces should be takens as an early wake up call for us all. Reports from the area can confirm forty-three civilian deaths, with over three-hundred injuries of varying severity. These numbers are expected to rise as search and rescue teams discover more victims of the attack.
The full report can be read here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=54725&find=unread

This is just the begining. These attacks on civilian populations are just going to get worse. Instead of dozens killed we will be getting reports of hundreds, maybe thousands. Imagine the devastation if an orbital strike targets a major population center. We should be prepared to help if that should happen.

Personally, I will be setting up a staging area in the Arnon system in the Essence region. The Sisters of EVE Bureau station around Arnon IX seems like a logical choice.
I will be stockpiling antibotics, frozen food, water, construction blocks and a few industrial ships to transport it to the nearest system that may need our help. If I missed anything that would also be helpful please feel free to tell me.

All I am asking here is that we should all be prepared to help those caught in the middle of our wars.

Forty three
Is that all?

I do this for many reasons. I do it because I believe it is right. I do it because I will profit by it. These all consolidate into one reason: I do it because I can.

Unsatisfied with wiping out the vast majority of their race and destroying almost all of their cultural heritage, some Amarrians seem intent on finishing the job. How vile.

How high does that number have to climb for us to care; 4300, 43000, 4 million? Like it or not we were not born immortal. We were made immortal. We were like those civilians at one time. By chance, luck or circustance we were given this great gift.

Sure for capsuleer this may seem like a fruitless and pointless endouver but it seems like the least I can do. I have the power and the means to help and I intend to. I was hoping to find others that would see this as a grwoing problem but I see our hearts are as the cold as the space we travel in.

My mission will continue though. Fly safe.

Ms. Thornn,

In the past few weeks I have extended the hand of support from the Galactic Imperial Navy to all those who have served just causes, and vied for the acknowledgment of the souls that support us capsuleers. More often than not capsuleers forget that onboard their ships they hold anywhere from four to four thousand crew members, and some of us tend to throw their lives away without a second thought.

Your perseverance in the matter of the assault of Vard VII has been admirable, and as such, on behalf of my organization, I would offer you my assistance in the investigation of these matters as well as establishing a standard patrol route.

Thank you for the support Marcus. It is appreciated.

As of now my first shipment of over 3000m3 tons of supplies has arrived in Arnon. I will add to it as time permits. I will also be patroling around systems that ground wars are being fought on to observe and help local populations if at all possible.

And I will be setting up a few generous buy orders in the Arnon system for supplies I think will be needed. Nothing moves people to help like getting ISK.

My thanks to you all for hearing me out. Fly safe.

Wow, looks like the Murientor Tribe means business, eh?

Surprised it took them this long to start massacring the new arrivals. Of course I understand their need to work through mercenaries... wouldn't want to embarrass the whole council after all.

I just wonder how long until the Starkmanir hire their own mercs and strike back? Ah... just like the good old days! Only now with added proxies. I love it.

Wow. That's the dumbest conspiracy theory I've ever heard. You managed to get literally every single pertinent fact wrong.

I commend your initiative and effort and I sincerely wish your operations well.

I would offer assistance but unfortunately I am unwelcome in Republic space and around its borders so I must simply extend my sincere hope that those more capable than I will lend assistance.

Truth be told, considering the Bragian Order's own profile, it may well have been exactly as the oh so unbiased reporter claimed. But then again, maybe not. Their reputation makes them rather obvious as to who their regular employers are, which means that they're also the perfect cover for someone trying to shift the blame elsewhere.

You, on the other hand, can't even consider any possibilities that don't fit perfectly within you narrow, box-like view of the world. You aren't even capable of imagining anything other than what the propaganda tube tell you to. "Critical thinking isn't questioning other people's beliefs - it's questioning your own." And yes, that was an Amarrian saying that.

So the dumb crown is still all yours, as it always shall be.
