Hello everyone, I just wanted to say hi! I am a new player of EVE Online and hope to see many of you in game.

I had a question though: what is the best way to make ISK? I was going to start as a miner, but my corp told me it is really boring to do that. What else do you suggest?

Well hello there!

Well mining can earn you isk, but its so boring you'll be watching netflix, youtube, or reading a book while you do it.

Missioning is the next most common way to earn isk. It is a little more interactive than mining.

Next you have station trading which is only if you like to play with excel spreadsheets.

And lastly you can always scam or beg for money in Jita.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

Welcome aboard, your corp mates were correct, mining can be amongst the most boring things to do in Eve, unless you're doing it as a group, especially a drunken group Lol

As a newbie you'll find that the income from missioning can be a little low for your first month or so, but rest assured it does improve to the extent that you can afford to get involved in pretty much anything you want. If you haven't already done so, do the tutorial missions, you'll get free ships and skill books, then go onto the Sisters of Eve epic arc, combined they should give you a decent start Isk wise, and you'll learn how some of the game mechanics work into the bargain.

There's the obvious PvP, which doesn't have to cost a fortune, organisations like RvB specialise in cheap, cheerful and casual explosions. There's also market trading as the poster above mentioned, it can be pretty competitive and requires some research on your part, but some traders are among the most affluent people in Eve.

Another good way to initially earn, is to fleet up and tag along on others missions, cleaning up behind them as a salvager. A destroyer is great for doing this, as it's both cheap and has a large number of high slots for salvagers and tractor beams. Ask in corp chat and I'm sure you'll find someone willing to let you clean up after them if you offer to split the take with them. Level 3 & 4 missions are good for this, on a level 4 mission the loot and salvage can be anywhere between 3 and 30 million isk, and by not doing it themselves, they can run another mission while you do it for them.

You could of course scam them afterwards, salvage a few missions for them and then break your deal and keep it all for yourself, because you can, and because 50 mill in sold salvage and loot is a lot of money to a newbie. They could let you keep it when you do stick to the deal, that's Eve.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

before i started eve i thought mining sounded interesting, but a guy i know who's a vet told me to make a combat character to start with. i don't regret it.

i made a mining alt recently. it's max skilled, and i never use it. mining is sooooo horrible

frankly the best way to make isk when starting out is to buy PLEX. everything else is slow, grindy and boring when you're low skilled. it's a waste of your time. buying a plex lets you grab a stack of spaceships and have some fun

e: buying a plex as an initial investment of ISK for a manufacturing character is also a good way to go, once you have production efficiency V skilled

I just did a bit of mining. Just to remind me why I hate mining. Then someone fail-ganked, and hilarity ensued. So it wasn't so horrible.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

The easiest way by far to make isk is to scam your fellow players for it. However if your morals won't let you take this route, the second easiest is to play the market. People are lazy. You can capitalize on this. Eventually you'll have enough capital to manipulate the market in certain areas, and that's where the fun begins.

My advice is just trying a bunch of those things, seeing which you enjoy the most, and keep doing it.

The activity that makes the most ISK is the one that you do for years because its fun, not the activity that has optimal ISK/hour but you get bored of 2 months in.

Read The ISK Guide.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

For a new player with little ISK, buying a industrial and hauling around some trade goods can be both profitable and interesting, as you see a bit the region and you get more comfortable dealing with the market.

Hint: Buy garbage from Gallente and sell it to Minmatar for profits!

Forum trolling, there's not a lot of isk in it, but if your world view doesn't revolve around the crass acquisition of material virtual goods, it can be a fulfilling career in Eve.

Have you done the Sisters of EVE epic arc? If not you should, it'll show you the four empires and give you some good rewards.

Instead of station trading, where you just buy and sell in the same station, you could do region-to-region trading.
Station trading can be very dull, you never undock and basically only check if your orders are still on top. The competition can be very high.

I started region trading frim Jita to a highsec system in Black Rise, directly near to the caldari FW zone (Icharya or so...cant remember anymore).
The profit per sold item is higher than station trading, the competition is not as high but the quantitiy of sold items is less that station trading and you need to haul your stuff yourself.
